    Wallabies 2019 Thread

I know McCaffrey was good before injury, but I would have Samu in front of him at 8 and potentially in front of Naisarani too. He has everything you need in an 8 - very good in contact, good link player, excellent at the breakdown, useful in the line out and strong defender. And that is from...

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

I’m not sure how much we should actually lose sleep over the Wallabies training selections, but leaving Pete Samu out is looking a bit silly right at the moment - especially with Pocock injured.

    Reds v Chiefs thread

Well, that was disappointing. I thought they were going to get there - but they just don’t have that composure and those couple of genuine threats out wide. Unfortunately the Reds played like what they are - a young, talented forward pack that doesn’t lack for effort but lacks composure and a...

RD 14: QLD v NSW (The Stink Part II) - Lang Park 18/5 7.45

I wouldn’t be surprised or disappointed to see LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) at 6 for the Wallabies. He has generally been very good for mine. If not, good chance for the bench. I personally don’t really see the improvement in Hanigan, but given he has been consistently part of the Wallabies squad for the last two...

RD 14: QLD v NSW (The Stink Part II) - Lang Park 18/5 7.45

Interesting. I thought he was good. Maybe I need to watch again. Certainly he is more workrate then impact, which was what I thought he would be when I first saw him as a 19 or 20 year old, but he still made a couple of crucial linking plays.

RD 14: QLD v NSW (The Stink Part II) - Lang Park 18/5 7.45

Very disappointing not to be able to get the win. However, there were certainly some strong points. Agree with you Silverado that it was a quality game with some good play by both sides. Quite surprising given some of the form of both teams leading in. Certainly the catch pass skills on display...

It hasn’t been just Timu either. I’m sure there was a game where he left the starting locks on the whole game, or at least most of it and the reserve lock was someone like Salakai-Loto or Hockings, but of whom have been good this year, and whom clearly aren’t on the outer. My general point was...

Your comments don’t match his stats https://www.foxsports.com.au/rugby/super-rugby/stats/players?teamId=50005 He hasn’t been killing it, but not his he been poor. In any case, I think you are missing my point. There have been at least 2 games from memory where he has been picked on the bench...

RD 14: QLD v NSW (The Stink Part II) - Lang Park 18/5 7.45

Not trying to be smart - but he’s barely been given a run this year, including before he was suspended. And he was playing club when he was suspended because he was dropped. I’m not arguing whether he is out of favour as he clearly is, but on what basis are you judging his form? Last year he...

RD 14: QLD v NSW (The Stink Part II) - Lang Park 18/5 7.45

I wonder if Thorn will use Timu this week. He seems reluctant to use certain players. Not sure if it is a matter of backing the guys on the field or not having faith on the guys on the bench, but I still find it a bit strange. On the flip side, Thorn does seem to be setting up a production...

RD 14: QLD v NSW (The Stink Part II) - Lang Park 18/5 7.45

Gee - not sure about the rash of confidence about Qld. I would have thought NSW start favourites. A lot depends on which Qld turns up. Give away a truck load of penalties again and we are no chance.

    Skelton

I’d be happy to have Skelton back in the mix in super rugby competing for a spot. But I’m happy with Rodda, Salakai-Loto & Arnold. The next batch of Hockings, Blyth & Swain looking promising too.

    Rd 13: Rebels v Reds @ Melbourne 10/5/19 7.45 pm

Big game for both teams as the Australian conference tightens. Rebels need a win to find some momentum in their season and stay on track to top the conference. If the Reds win they jump the Rebels on the table and can start putting some realistic pressure on the top 8. Reds coming off a...

    Reds 2019

I dunno. Seems clear cut to me - you can’t strike a guy in the head with your boot Hockings did. I assume he’ll do time. Certainly is seemed more silly than malicious to me, and there wasn’t much force in it, but the focus on the protection of players heads is a pretty well established focus now.

And it’s worth watching. Developed into a bit of an arm wrestle in the second half, but generally a good game
