That is a terrific story. Thanks for sharing.

Hodge is deceptively quick but, regardless, I only think 2 of those 3 are in your back 3 + a specialist winger

I kind of think the opposite Eastman. For me, Hodge is a very reliable player with a somewhat ungainly style and I wonder if some people overlook him for ‘flashier’ players whose overall contribution is not as good. Personally I don’t think any of the back 3 spots are locked down, but I’d have...

    Reds 2019

I dunno - 4 long term/season ending injuries in one position is always going to test the depth + Lucas unavailable due to u20 commitments. We will still have cover in Campbell, Naivalu & Toua. I can’t imagine that you’d normally carry more than that. After 4 down, you’d always be down to a...

I thought the u20s were still unavailable for the next game.

Sharks v Reds, 19th April, Durban

I’m hoping Caleb Timu isn’t definitely lost. I know he hasn’t featured much this year but I think his impact could be a real addition to the work of the rest of our pack. Has to work on his ball security, but I thought he was one of our best last year. Otherwise I think a back row of...

And he was asked to fill a key defence role and run a marathon in the same game. It highlighted the stupidity of our defensive system.

Terrific effort from all the frontrowers. When the oldest bloke in your starting front row is 22, you should reasonably expect to struggle. But they were solid and their work around the park excellent. Then the old heads came on and stepped it up.

Nice win. Some very good performances across the board - Kerevi, McDermott & Mafi probably the best, but I’m also liking the work of Hegarty & Stewart guiding them round.

I thought that was acceptable. He went for the ball and had a play on it????

Reds have been good and some of the defence very good - but I think the Sharks just made their 148th handling error.

It was a great little kick too. Shame Campbell missed it, but the execution of the kick was spot on

Yeah - or a try off a neat little Kerevi kick. But a penalty will be good too. Edit: going for the try.

Reds will need their bench to bring them home. A number of guys looking very tired.

Samu Kerevi - Wow. Magnificent game. Good support play too.

Sorry mate. Fair point - although in my defence I was really having a crack at the number of people who list Phibbs instead of Phipps. But, point taken.

To be clear, I agree McCaffrey will be unlucky if he missed out. I’ll leave any further comments on different players to the Wallabies thread.

Rd 9: Brumbies vs Lions, Saturday 13 April 7:45pm AEST

I thought Naisarani was outstanding in a beaten side. His work rate was very high and he still made yards even though the Rebels game plan basically allowed the Stormers defence to gang tackle the Rebels forward runners (yes - he did get driven back at times too). Personally I felt he cemented...
