    Reds 2019

Any chance of Sam Greene wanting to come back? Not that he is a proven performer at all, but I always thought he showed a lot of potential. Of course potential wins SFA, but if Hegarty keeps going the way he is then I’d be happy if they signed a back up for depth rather than a front liner.

Rd 8: Reds v Stormers Friday 5th April

Agree he’s getting better and looking a better fit every week, as too is Stewart. The form of McDermott can’t hurt.

If he keeps playing like this he can perm his hair for all I care.

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Look - I’ll temper my response by saying he is currently out. Until such time as he is fit to play and demonstrates he is performing close enough to 100% this is a non issue. If they have to manage his work load, so be it. Rest him or bring him off the bench as required to ease the load ingames...

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

When Cheika persisted with Maddocks over Banks, I thought it was a mistake. But I will concede, whilst I still rate Banks and reckon he has pretty decent upside, Maddocks has really impressed me this season and I think Cheika got that one right. Not the finished article by any means, but is a...

    Round 7: Reds v Rebels - Saturday 30 March @ Suncorp

Based on Cheika’s comments in the podcast the other day he sees those sort of things as a virtue, so it’ll probably elevate him into the starting team.

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

I am with you, or can at least follow your rational, except with the whole Hooper/Pocock thing. You’re just trying too hard to justify Hoopers selection over Pocock. You simply don’t leave your best player on the bench because he’ll make more ‘impact’. Of course he will - he is a better player...

The thing with credibility is that, once gone, it's very hard to get back.

    Reds v Brumbies

I think the argument is that we want to see refs use discretion, where appropriate, to allow the game to proceed. Happy to concede though that the Reds would have no case to argue if the ref had pulled it up. Edit: with regards to the rule itself, if I recall correctly it was introduced when...

    Reds v Brumbies

Understand where you are coming from BR and I did think the Reds were lucky to get away with it, but I think the difference was that the ref could see the ball and McDermott was pretty clearly trying to get it out to clear it, whereas with the Brumbies one the ball was wrapped up by Hockings and...

    Reds v Brumbies

Recovery will be very important for the Reds this week. We have a bit of help with the draw inthe next two weeks getting the Rebels coming back from SA & the Stormers 3 weeks into their road trip, but yesterday’s effort must take a toll on the body. The probable unavailability of ASY (Angus Scott-Young) & Timu...

    Reds 2019

Yeah. Somewhat ironic in a week when our discipline was otherwise bloody good we will, presumably, lose two guys to needless infractions.

    Reds v Brumbies

That is as my take on it too. Long way to go, but that was a pretty decent dig. I was going to accuse the Brumbies of being the Jeckyl and Hyde of Australian Rugby, but I guess the Reds are a bit similiar ( if maybe with a lower peak at this time). Good performance from the forwards. Whatever...

    Reds v Brumbies

I thought the try where Kerevi went quick to Naivalu was pretty decisive. Brumbies seemed to be coming back into it and there really wasn’t anything on. I’ll admit that I was dubious whether Kerevi actually had the game to be a good 12, but I’m very happily eating humble pie.

    Round 6: Waratahs v Crusaders - Saturday 23 March @ SCG

Agree. Good, simple structure, moving up quickly and making their tackles. Hopefully Grey is watching. I thought Foley played well too.

If I was going to target someone in the Brumbies backline, I’m not sure it would be TK, regardless of his age.

    Your favourite Wallaby XV

Whilst I agree with your comment lifting Willie O, if I recall correctly he did win ‘that’ lineout in the 91 WC final, so that makes him a bone fide jumper IMO. Good team.
