    Super Rugby Rnd 3 2020 Brumbies v Highlanders @ Canberra - Saturday February 15th 7:15pm AEDT

I must admit though - I prefer that it was yellow in the game and suspension afterwards. I’d prefer that approach, even if it means the after game suspensions are a bit longer. Or maybe; as some have suggested previously the offending player is removed, but can be replaced after 10. Red cards...

Super Rugby Rnd 3: Jaguares v Reds - Buenos Aires Sunday Feb 16 10:00am AEDT

I don’t think that true on either count Dan. Plenty of guys here consistently express their dislike of mauls generally and the Brumbies cop plenty of criticism for theirs - both I general terms (ie that they are boring) and for the legalities. Personally I don’t have a problem with them - but...

Super Rugby Rnd 3: Jaguares v Reds - Buenos Aires Sunday Feb 16 10:00am AEDT

If you take away half the penalities that weren’t deserved the whole game changes. It’s hard to have momentum when the ref keeps gift wrapping it to the opposition. For what it’s worth, I think you can attribute a lot of the Reds second half performance to the ref. He was appalling and his...

    Reds 2020

I think he carries better wider out. He uses footwork and his long arms to offload and that creates opportunities for us to get behind the defence. He tends to carry a bit upright, and I think that can work wider whereas it is an issue in tight. That said, on balance, I still think his best...

    Reds 2020

I rate Lukhan higher as a 6 than you do Bobby, but I still agree with the general thrust of your point. I would’ve had Salakia-Loto in the row, ASY (Angus Scott-Young) at 6 and picked one of Blyth & Hockings. Having said that I am not sure that contributed significantly to our loss. We actually played better in...

Super Rugby Rnd 3: Jaguares v Reds - Buenos Aires Sunday Feb 16 10:00am AEDT

To an extent Wamberal - and yes, there are some underlying good signs there. But on the flip side all 3 games have been opportunities to come away with wins and so far we have none. They could well kick in from here - there were definitely some good signs - but I gee it would have been nice...

Super Rugby Rnd 3: Jaguares v Reds - Buenos Aires Sunday Feb 16 10:00am AEDT

Gee, it’s hard to know what to think after that game. Very disappointed with the end result. I was disappointed with the ref, but what do you do? The Reds focus will be on things within their own control, as it should be. My observations - - general clearance kicking is still below par - our...

This refereeing performance is a disgrace

Gee - that’s a poor call. Reds should have got that penalty.

Super Rugby Rnd 3: Rebels vs Waratahs

It bucketed down. It wasn’t Cairns in a monsoon type rain, but it was clearly pretty heavy at times.

Super Rugby Rnd 3: Rebels vs Waratahs

I actually didn’t mind the game. It was in tough conditions and it isn’t open, free flowing footy but I thought the contest was willing enough. There were a few disappointing individual performances but there were also a few very good ones I thought. I’d watch it - but then if I had a choice of...

Give him a break. At least he put a shot on someone.

Dunno - I get what you mean, but if I was Daugunu, or any other winger in Australia, I’d want to be playing outside Petaia.

Super Rugby Rnd 3: Rebels vs Waratahs

To'omua is an interesting player. Can really stifle the attack at times and look limited, and then other times looks very sharp. Takes the ball going forward, runs simple, flat attacking shapes and puts some good kick options in. Well done to Bell. A long way to go but an incredible achievement...

    Reds 2020

Only second in terms of ‘season ending’ however he did miss his initial test debut due to a hamstring issue (?? I think) and was hampered this pre-season. Having said that - and this is not directed at you as such - but maybe we need to wait for details for we write him off. If I was Thorn I’d...

    Reds 2020

Zander has clearly responded well to the training. Based on some of the comments on here it has obviously surprised a lot of people so I would assume, having never seen him play before, Zander has come a long way in a short time. Maybe Faessler just hasn’t progressed as far/fast. I assume they...

    Reds 2020

Our front row depth is badly exposed at the moment. I don’t care where he is from - we need the best available option. If that is Craig, so be it. The Reds/QRU have been clearly giving players and opportunity out of QPR when they are up to it, and I am happy to see them include more local...

    Reds 2020

I would leave the back 5 as it is. LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) has been very good in the row & ASY (Angus Scott-Young) good at 6. Bring Hockings back via the bench. Fully fit I’d pick him over Blyth - but in this instance it might be worth holding him back given Blyth has match fitness.

    Super Rugby Rnd 2 2020 Lions v Reds @ Jo'burg - Sunday 12:05am AEDT

The ref called that the front man never released the ball - which from my viewing was correct as he still had his hands on it when it was grounded. That is why the commentators were questioning whether the try could really be awarded the the second player (if he was the ball carrier then it was...

    Super Rugby Rnd 2 2020 Lions v Reds @ Jo'burg - Sunday 12:05am AEDT

Thorn has shown so far he has no problems backing youth and/or guys out of the local club and throwing them into the fray if he thinks they’re up to it. However he already has 2 rookie props out there and a rookie hooker who have 1 super rugby caps between them. I think it’s a reasonable choice...
