I don’t mind persevering when a much better outcome is on its way - but Campbell doesn’t strike them well at all. He doesn’t look to me like someone who just needs to tweak a few things.

I would assume CFS to 13 would be the most likely, both on account of being the next most experienced 13 and also probably the best one to balance Stewart.

Haha - please - you played for Euros. More than 1 of your team mates was a numpty.

    ????? You’re under selling Rodda’s general play.

McReight is a Super Rugby level player at flanker. When is the last time he played hooker? And why is it people always thank changing to hooker is easy?

Fair enough - but Rodda has only played half those games and I’d suggest if he was a key culprit it should have improved in his absence but it actually performed the worst it has all year. He needs to work hard to be part of the solution, but your comment was that he was a big part of the Reds...

With regards to locks - even if Phillips does sign overseas, I’d include him in the squad. We have a bunch of talented young locks coming through, but I think most/all of them are still settling in senior rugby. None of the likes of Hockings, Blyth, Swain & Frost have so far been able to...

Young guys often have trouble maintaining super form the whole way through. I won’t be surprised if he drops off a bit towards the back end of the season - but it might depend on if/when Thorn gives him a spell. Generally Thorn is happy to rotate guys - but gee it would be hard to leave him out...

Hard to fathom why Campbell is kicking. And when he handed the duties over, it wasn’t to Stewart or Lucas, but to Malolua who didn’t seem any better (albeit off a sample of 1). Equally hard to fathom what is happening with the lineout. The Reds just seem so easy for other teams to pick. Not...

Not at all. I get that we all post without thinking at times, but it just seems to be happening a lot lately. People just need to consider the whole point of a match thread.

Guys - could you not fucking comment on the result of games in any other thread then that specific game thread. It’s not a hard concept FFS.

With regards to this being the game thread - the whole conversation started around Thorn’s selection of Tate on the bench and went into a comparison of the comparative selection of Powell. I dunno - there has been a few posts specific to Powell and I apologise if I’ve taken it too far off...

I get what your saying but, to be fair, the games not going on. If it was I'd be less bored and I'm sure we'd be talking about that. I do take your point though.

I dont't think he has been dropped. That was the point of the quotation marks. I am guessing that McKellar, like Thorn, is building depth through his squad and that, like Thorn, he is fortunate that he has a back up half he has confidence in. I won't be surprised in both McDermott & Powell...

Surely even you can see the irony of both your original post and this one BR - McDermott is on the bench so he must automatically have been dropped, however if we assume the same about Powell it can only be because of our own ‘feelings of inadequacy towards Tate’. I mean I love your passion &...

Ironically I see Joe Powell has been ‘dropped’ to the bench for the Brumbies game.

Rob Simmons is probably high on the list of one of the most rubbished/disliked players in Australian rugby. Except by the last 3 Wallabies coaches and each & every super rugby coaches he’s had (plus by most of his teammates from what has always been said about his peers).

Gee - I didn’t realise Ala'alatoa was also playing such high minutes. That isn’t a good thing from a Wallaby perspective.

I have concerns over Tupou. He is playing big minutes ever week and it is hard to see how that is going to change. The loss of Ruan Smith and the injury to Fetouaika has left the Reds cupboard bare in terms of props. High risk of him being seriously needing a rest come test selection time.
