    Reds 2022

Particularly impressive when you consider we've had 7 yellow and 2 red cards across the 7 rounds so far. Does it say more about the Reds' defence, or others' inability to convert?

    Round 7 Reds v Brumbies, Suncorp Stadium 2/4 @ 6:45pm AEST

From the stands it looked like he was reasonably involved offensively all night, and the ESPN stats seem to back that up. 7 runs for 63m (only beaten by Petaia (90m) and Daugunu (67m) across both teams), 1 clean break, 3 defenders beaten, 2 tackles. From memory, ran a few great decoy lines that...

    Reds 2022

With the way he was carrying it and the treatment he was receiving on the sidelines, it looked more than just a stinger to me. For the sake of our prop stocks, hopefully I'm wrong

You can’t use the ‘just aim lower’ argument when cleaning out someone pilfering the ball though. The clean out that drew the red tonight was clearly poor form, but when the whole target area presented to you when coming through the gate is head, neck, and shoulders of the pilferer, the issue...

    Round 7 Reds v Brumbies, Suncorp Stadium 2/4 @ 6:45pm AEST

I put it in the Reds 22 thread. The right call from Thorn with the alternative options he has at his disposal, and both the squad and Lipo should be better for it. Hoping he has a massive 50th tonight as a result.

    Wallabies 2023

The desires and motivations of a player is a point that I think is often overlooked in these discussions, when it's probably the most prohibitive factor. For examples of terrible outcomes for teams and individuals as a result of players being moved around against their will, the NBA have...

    Round 7 Reds v Brumbies, Suncorp Stadium 2/4 @ 6:45pm AEST

Three subjects is still considered a full-time load, so it'd be two or less if he was part time. UQ med has a number of programs involving overseas study at affiliate universities and/or hospitals, particularly in the third and fourth years (of a full-time degree). Has no impact on eligibility...

    Wallabies 2023

In principal I agree, but could it be one step too close to mandating/capping numbers of Wallabies in each squad? Once you take form, injuries, fluidity around who's in Wallabies contention, and desires/autonomy of the players themselves into account, this becomes nigh-on impossible to achieve...

A little bit more insight from Wright on why Daugunu's been overlooked in recent weeks: https://www.rugbypass.com/news/wallabies-winger-handed-lifeline-in-top-of-the-table-super-rugby-pacific-clash/?fbclid=IwAR0JRFf1WRgrfTsj9t0nzkZf6I2RLAUzAUx7GMDEGtV7TKgndddoFeLRof8

    Wallabies 2023

He chucked a bag of ice straight on his groin when he came off last week - I wonder if he's picked up a tweak, or is concerned that he might, which is affecting his kicking

I'd say something about fair-weather fans, but is the weather ever fair down there?

Looked like JOC (James O'Connor) was making a few of the calls last week too - even when both CCs were on the field

    A wildcard: 15 Stewart 14 Petaia 12 Henry

Not saying I wouldn't pick Daugunu, just highlighting that there may be a reason he's been overlooked in previous weeks that we haven't been clued into. If Thorn wasn't to pick Daugunu, and with Droasese out of the country, it could be that Creighton starts and Grealy comes in on the bench.

    Round 7 Reds v Brumbies, Suncorp Stadium 2/4 @ 6:45pm AEST

Like this team, but I'd have a question mark over Daugunu given how he's been overlooked in recent weeks (for whatever reason).

    Round 7 Reds v Brumbies, Suncorp Stadium 2/4 @ 6:45pm AEST

In fairness to the anon poster, I have heard similar about Thorn rating Henry - although his 11th hour contract extension maybe paints a different picture. Granted, with the roster and depth Thorn has available to him now, I'm not sure he'd have anyone in the team that he didn't rate. As TSR...

Really impressed with what Nonggorr had to offer at the start of this season - hopefully he gets his chance and runs with it again. Some competition for Zander to get back into the side is nothing but a good thing for all parties.

    Round 6 - Reds v Waratahs - Suncorp

Could be wrong, but the lineout seemed to improve when Wright came on too, which maybe lessens that leg up for ASY (Angus Scott-Young) a bit
