Stretch that to 10 years and you're closer to the truth. My rough timeline is: Kooga 2010-12, BLK 2013-17, Zoo 2018, Dynasty 2019-present

Good news on the sponsors front - there's now an official tortilla of the Queensland Reds! https://reds.rugby/news/la-banderita-join-queensland-reds-family-2022116

Quietly nervous about the games against the Drua and Moana Pasifika - I think they'll certainly catch a few teams out. Round 5 at Suncorp v Pasifika will be a homecoming of sorts too for BGS old boy Levi Aumua

Long term, it should be self-fulfilling too. A stronger Wallabies (feat. internationals) driving up national interest in the game, bumping up revenue, eventually leading to more $ (and clout) in Super to help retain star players locally, that will drive up interest in the game, and so forth - in...

Isaac Henry could be a wildcard inclusion in the mix given he played 10 for BBC 1st XV - a long time between drinks though

Great to see them sticking around - looking from the outside in, regardless of their form, it really seems like these two are part of the 'soul' of the team, ooze Queensland, and embody everything Thorn has been building.

He started a Doctor of Medicine at UQ last year, so unless it's an international opportunity as part of that (which I imagine would be particularly unlikely given the current COVID situation), I doubt he'd look to move abroad until he's finished in a few years

That's the only question... Definitely not complaining about having some depth though - hopefully the battles for position will result in good performances all round

This is music to my ears - I fully expect Uru to cement a spot in the Reds' starting XV next year, and well and truly in the fray for the gold jersey. A standout player who is blossoming with every minute of game time he gets

You can add Angus Cottrell and Dane Gagai to that list as well

Great to see the reds aren't resting on their laurels like the pre-Thorn years and are continually blooding, developing, and signing young (Queensland) talent. Big call, but we might be witnessing the start of a new golden era for QLD rugby

Yep - and who doesn't love a schoolboy rugby montage https://www.facebook.com/gpsrugbynews/videos/isaac-henry-bbc-2016-first-xv-highlights/1867264836890438/

Sure did - and made a very good impression by all reports

Long time listener, first time caller... I've heard credibly that the Brumbies were chasing Henry quite hard, and the Reds hadn't put anything on the table (at the time). Would be a huge shame to lose him - one of the shining lights late in the season for mine, and could flourish around...
