Possibles vs Probables Friday 3rd August 6.45pm kickoff

Sure. (Depending on what the CBA says)) And RUPA calls their bluff? I don't think it's unreasonable for pro players to expect be paid Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Possibles vs Probables Friday 3rd August 6.45pm kickoff

Bit late to this but last time the ARU tried to have a trial match the players basically went on strike - if there was a financial gain then they wanted match payments. At $10,000 a player/match that gets unsustainable very quickly. Have no idea if true for this match, but I wonder if RUPA...

Highlight of the whole series for me, the scrum penalty in the first test, was almost entirely down Simmons and TT. It was a thing of beauty on that tighthead side of the scrum. I reckon Phillips is not quite there scrum-wise yet. And that's a non negotiable for Cheika Sent from my Pixel 2...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

No doubt it wouldn't be close - but they have money and we don't. As to the magnitude - the problem is everyone always focuses on RA when the bulk of the spend is at state union level.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I reckon you're underestimating both how much funding is directed directly and indirectly from pros to development officers at state union level, and also the impact those guys have on a rugby community

    Where to for Super Rugby?

There's a couple of issues there - if we're going to do it, it would involve more teams than existing - so assume we can maintain ~$25m for salaries (optimistic!), that will be spread over 8/10/12 teams rather than the existing 4. And you'd be wanting to use a lot more of the Wallaby funding...

    Concussions and Protecting Our Players

Excellent series of articles demonstrating the research that World Rugby has been undertaking wit hregards to head injuries, some of the implications and what they plan/planned to do about it. http://sportsscientists.com/2017/07/head-injuries-rugby-part-1-principle-high-level-view/...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I don't think anyone would disagree that you could setup a national domestic competition, that would be sustainable. The NRC is just about there already. The issue is really how much the players competing could be paid, what sports science/coaching resource can be paid for and then whether...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Hire of the corporate facilities (which is by the season often as well) makes up a huge part of their matchday income these days as well NO idea - but SANZAR takes care of accomodation rather than the individual nations/teams

    Where to for Super Rugby?

That'd be "travel partner" IHG https://sanzarrugby.com/superrugby/news/sanzar-extends-partnership-with-ihg/

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Iirc the "travel partners" (eg Qantas) for each of the nations cover the flights as part of their sponsorship deals at the moment, so while costs are high, it's not necessarily a direct cost. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

    Where to for Super Rugby?

2016 revenue - the difference is mainly revenue from Currie Cup/ITM IIRC (2016 was the England tour here too) https://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=11847059
