    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Hoping Timu can do well out wide is a bit like wanting Higgers in the team - they can absolutely do that, and under the right coach (for those players) it might be a pretty good gameplan, but it's not how Cheika sets up his team. They need to slot into the 1-3-3-1 pod system to play in...

Agree. They should hire some kind of media person to publicise these sort of moves Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Wallabies vs Ireland - 3rd test - Saturday 23rd June 2018 - Sydney Football Stadium

5 Go back to allowing a mark for a defender anywhere on the field - which will make the aerial kick much less desirable for attackers.

6 tries to 3 to the Wobs as well. That tells a bit of a story (much like it did in the English whitewash a couple of years ago). In fact Ireland hasn't scored more tries than Australia in a match since 2006, with a 22 tries to 12 aggregate and yet we have won 4 matches from 10

To quote myself - certainly dangerous, albeit made worse by the lifter pivot point Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

That's the key phrase isn't it? Given that he in fact won the ball back for his team. Get the Senior Council involved and he'll get off (much like Horwill against the lions)

He's been cited for the 9th minute challenge which resulted in POM landing on his head. The first kickoff wasn't great either, but POM landed on his back then too. Izzy was pretty lucky they diidn't go forensic on the two earlier challanges

Wallabies vs Ireland - 3rd test - Saturday 23rd June 2018 - Sydney Football Stadium

Thought we actually got the rub of a fair number of penalties last night. Two more Izzy challenges were very questionable, the penalty try against the post, Kerevi offside instead of Sexton, a couple of pococks turnover attempts where he was clearly on the ground. And that's just the first half...

Since the Arbib review Dan the nominations for the board have been handled by an "independent" panel, which are then voted on by the voting members of RA (States, super teams, players etc). All board members are meant to be independent as well. Ceo is on the board, the only executive, but...

2018 TV ratings and crowd numbers

123k for NZ v France and 227k for Aus v Ire on Fox The Aus game outrated all of the AFL games on Saturday The 10pm world cup game topped the sports ratings with 489k on SBS (probably quite a few flicked over after the rugby)

Wallabies vs Ireland - 3rd test - Saturday 23rd June 2018 - Sydney Football Stadium

Another one that I can't work out - when the half went for the try against the post, Coleman stopped it from happening by getting down on all fours - so was offside and was penalised for it. Why no penalty try?

Wallabies vs Ireland - 3rd test - Saturday 23rd June 2018 - Sydney Football Stadium

They got the timing totally wrong - Kerevi was way offside and should have been penalised - Sexton was rightly blowing up at that one - and instead he got penalised coming offside to stop Kerevi

Wallabies vs Ireland - 3rd test - Saturday 23rd June 2018 - Sydney Football Stadium

While I've got the replay open - in real time, the 1st half took 51mins from kickoff to whistle and the second half took 51m30s. That's a fair old chunk of dead time for each of the 40m halves (mostly TMO and injury time) I had a look at the first half pen goals, of which there were seven...

First Folau challenge is here (at 11m 7s). Another one where the single man lift provides a rotation point, so when Folau clatters in in results in the player flipping onto his head. If it's outcome based Folau is gone.

Don't think there's that much difference Wambers, or at least not at an individual level. Their game is designed to setup those sort of contests where the forwards repetatively get over the gain line. To their credit, they are disciplined enough to do it 20+ times in row and pick their targets...
