Super Rugby Rnd 10: Reds v Brumbies 5 Sept

Sure, he has some good moments, but his overall involvement level is low. He’ll make a great highlights clip.

    Wallabies 2020

Not sure. But I’ve heard a couple of references to him having potential to be the best no 6.

    Wallabies 2020

I think we sometimes overlook he was 21 when he made his Wallaby debut and still very green at professional level. I don’t think he kicked along as quickly as some of his peers and there has been this extended effort to turn him into a 6. But he is now developing his game nicely and has had a...

Super Rugby Rnd 10: Reds v Brumbies 5 Sept

Bit disconcerting to be sitting on the bench with though.

Super Rugby Rnd 10: Reds v Brumbies 5 Sept

I thought that was one of Valetini’s best games I’ve seen him play. I thought his involvement level was a fair bit up on what I’ve seen from him generally and he did have a number of very good contributions. But I’d still have him well behind the likes of Wright, Wilson & Samu on the back row...

Super Rugby Rnd 10: Reds v Brumbies 5 Sept

Really enjoyed that game and the way the Reds are coming through. When you consider guys like Wilson, McReight, Blyth, McDermott et al are still very early in their rugby careers and are going to get significantly better over the next 2-3 seasons the future does look very promising. I really do...

    Reds 2021

Mafi is too good a player to throw on the scrap heap. He’ll never be the player he could be if he doesn’t get his throwing right, but the rest of his game is right up there. It’s obviously not as easy to improve as just throwing 1000 throws - you look at guys who go throw their whole...

    Hopefully we can keep both.

    Haha - wow, nice bait.

Pretty decent Brumbies team too, to be fair. Should be a cracking game.

Super Rugby Rnd 10: Reds v Brumbies 5 Sept

I suspect both teams will want to make a statement and take some confidence into finals. The Brumbies have a week off anyway to freshen up and the Reds are coming off a week off. By virtue of establishing a good lead in the comp (and as a demonstration of squad depth) McKeller has been very...

Super Rugby Au Round 9 - Rebels vs Waratahs, 7:15pm Sat 29th August

Agree on Swinton. He’s been lucky to get away with what he has, but in these days with so much review he won’t continue to be lucky. Can clearly play and loves the contact but needs to improve his technique.

Super Rugby Au Round 9 - Rebels vs Waratahs, 7:15pm Sat 29th August

It’s a strange one FP. I wonder if there was something else behind it. Maybe his initial training effort wasn’t up to standard or there were other issues. I remember reading of here Moeroa had been given permission to negotiate elsewhere but I wonder if that’s true or if they’ll retain him...

Super Rugby AU Team of the Week

Plus I always take comfort in the fact that whenever someone posts something not aligned to my own think it is just because they clearly can’t be objective. Like I am. Always.

When it all comes down to it, would we want it any other way?

Super Rugby Au Round 9 - Rebels vs Waratahs, 7:15pm Sat 29th August

Philip card was due to team penalties. It might have been a relatively soft penalty, but the team was warned next one goes.

Super Rugby Au Round 9 - Rebels vs Waratahs, 7:15pm Sat 29th August

A couple of big questions/observations I have out of the game - - why had it taken so long to give Moeroa a start? He was pretty impressive. - having said that To'omua beats him out of the TOTW to me. He is carrying the Rebels backline. Koroibete is trying hard. The rest of them are not earning...

Super Rugby Au Round 9 - Rebels vs Waratahs, 7:15pm Sat 29th August

Ruling on crooked throws is one of those real areas of inconsistency, even at test level. They call a few, but let a heap go. You just have to ride your luck I guess. Horton has missed a couple over the last two weeks as well after being near perfect prior to that - although I am prepared to...

    Reds 2021

To be honest I barely remember him getting time. I remember him going on for his debut and getting a head knock and having to come off and that’s about it.

    Wallabies 2020

I think Hooper will be captain and starter, but it’s hardly inconceivable that a new coach coming into a team with an abysmal prior record is going to make significant changes. Hooper is great, but he isn’t untouchable.
