But I think you’ve outlined the very reasons a lot of us think he’ll do better. Deans, McKenzie & Cheika all, to various extents, had a lack of choice with players. The current enthusiasm is bought about, I believe, largely due to the emerging group of players. Not only does this appear to...

Super Rugby Au Final - Brumbies v Reds

Yeah - on the whole I think most fans are on board. To be honest I’m am really just reacting to a small number of those peanut brained fans that can’t bring themselves to acknowledge the development in a young bloke doing well. Mostly on the Roar/Face book.

Hey may do - but I don’t think there is any reference in his comment to that.

Super Rugby Au Final - Brumbies v Reds

Thierry - sorry, I can’t help you with the who the ref is. My post was only a reaction to your in part. Over the last two weeks, and even before that, I’ve notice any number of posts and a number of comments on other forums, deriding Tupou for all sorts of reasons. Since McKellar’s comments...

Super Rugby Au Final - Brumbies v Reds

We finally have a THP who can demolish people in scrums, and there appears to be some who want him bought back to Earth. Every prop is borderline illegal - Tupou certainly isn’t doing anything off the charts wrong. Sure, it’s not Sio’s job to hold Tupou up, but it’s not Tupou’s job to hold him...

Super Rugby Au Final - Brumbies v Reds

Ala'alatoa is quality though - I don’t think we should be discounting his capacity to rise to the occasion. He is not going to be as visible as Tupou but he’ll do plenty of good work. One of the biggest signs of how well Tupou is going is that he seems to have convinced almost everyone that he...

I’d actually like to see Rennie mix it up a bit. Maybe the ‘First Losers Group’ or the ‘Shoulda done extras’. They could get shirts done.

I don’t think there is any chance Hooper won’t be picked. My original post was actually just supposed to be a playful poke at the continual overuse of the phrase ‘he’ll be first name on the team sheet’. For what it’s worth I reckon the first name will either be Scott Sio or James Slipper.

Of course it’s not. I don’t disagree with your point about quizzing the 100 fans. What do you reckon the 100 fans would have said about leaving Nasirani out? How many Reds fans do you reckon would have picked Thorn to drop Cooper? What do you reckon the survey would have said about George...

I think Hooper is a safe bet to be picked, but I reckon a week ago there was probably no one that didn’t have Nasirani, and very few that didn’t have TK in their squad. I believe both of them may have even been referred to as ‘first name on the sheet’. Should be a competitive camp.

I can’t really see either, TBH. And certainly not the captaincy scenario. That seems fun foil hat stuff.

Some very interesting comments on here about Campbell - especially given he isn’t actually in the squad and, by and large, most of his supporters seem fine with that (me included). I do wonder though how all of us can watch the same guy and see something completely different. They beauty of...

Haha - well, it does still sting, but from my point of view I misinterpreted your original post. But my response was a bit over the top, so I’ll cop that. I did go back to ‘soften’ my post a bit, but you’d already responded so I didn’t bother.

Dempsey has had some good games, but he is inconsistent. Personally I don’t see his non-selection as being incompatible with Rennie’s statement.

So? I assume Swinton did too. Look I don’t want to get in some stupid argument with you or get childish, but thats pretty much the poorest evidence you could offer me. The Reds were rotten that day. Honestly UTG I’m not going to get in a slinging match with you - but that’s a childish...

    Wallabies 2020

My recollection was that Dempsey was excellent in his first incarnation in gold and then so so in his second stint. He got dropped in the end didn’t he? Likewise he’s found some form and had some great games, but he’s gone missing a few times too. I figure Swinton has got the gig because he...

Petaia is a big boy. I would have thought bigger than TK. Certainly looked like it when he trampled over him a couple of times last time they played - and that’s not meant to be as disrespectful as it no doubt sounds, but Petaia will get us over the gain line.

From what I read, Rodda never wanted to go OS. He wanted to go to another team but stay in Australia. But RA wouldn’t agree on principal, which I think was the right call.

Correct. I think Fat Prop was just speculating, or maybe fishing a bit himself, in the initial post.
