    Wallabies team for next week?

One thing I fail to understand has been why there is a need to all of Gits, Barnes, Beale, Rabbit, Qwade all in a 22. Those 5 should be competing for 3 spots, 4 max and the rest excess. Far too similar players IMO I think the best backline for this week is 9. Genia 10. Giteau - don't see...

    Wallabies v All Blacks Melbourne

Agree with the highlighted. It was a good break by Giteau, and doesn't happen nearly enough these days. He needs to take on the line more. BTW if you had scored the scoreboard pressure would have been there at least and would have changed the game somewhat. Not a bad read barbarian. Almost...

    Richie McCaw Cheat or genius

I think you've over-dramatised it Scotty. McCaw was off-balanced and got pushed, played it up it seemed but hardly took a "dive". Not unusual to see this in the game today with plenty of guys playing up "high tackles".

    Richie McCaw Cheat or genius

McCaw's workrate was top drawer last night. He carried the ball off the back of the ruck, linked and carried and crashed ball. Had it all last night. Not surprised many are saying Pocock ''outplayed him'', he (Pocock had a whale of a game), but I thought McCaw was far more effective in many...

    Wallabies v All Blacks Melbourne

Int the Wallabies win in Sydders, Deans targetted Nonu big time. They always had two (at least) - usually a fatty and back pushing up alot harder in defence when Nonu got the ball. Didn't allow him to get any sort of momentum. Good ploy, but did put pressure on those two players to get ball and...

Fox Sports Rugby commentary all should be fired. except Kafe.

Are you Kearns mum or something? To think some retired hooker with a comedy routine that has a little bit of commentary throughout has such power and influence over incidents in a game, is hilarious.

    Richie McCaw Cheat or genius

We've had some "horror moments" though. Taine Randell playing out of position at 7 for an extended period.... Carlos was an effective 1st 5 at test level. Tony Brown was okay, but not close to world class. And there's been stop gaps along the way also. It's hard to say "who's next"...

    Richie McCaw Cheat or genius

McCaw has evolved his game over the past 2-3 years. Remember the kid made the ABs 9 years ago, with a bewildered Kronfeld saying "who". He is a far more rounded player. His defensive work in the tackle is still world class. At test level he is a machine at the tackle. He still competes for and...

    ITM Cup (NZ's NPC)

SBW represented the Kiwis in Int'l league so is not an "Aussie". Josh Tatupu from the Western Force is in the Otago squad. Rats lock O'Connor is playing for the Taniwha as well

    LOCKED: Time to Sack Deans?

On first viewing I thought it was obstruction as no one was engaged before they moved forward.

    Wallabies v All Blacks Melbourne

Surface has been a big issue for the Telstra Dome. Before last weeks AFL game they had former doggies player Rohan Smith on the sidelines with two different pairs of boots saying that one was working for players but chewing the ground up big time, whilst the other ones didn't create divets but...

    Wallabies v Springboks, Brisbane.

I think Pocock would have "reacted" a bit more if it were more than Burger trying to "get up". Nothing in it for me either. Pocock had a whale of a game IMO. Was everywhere at the collisions. Made it very difficult for the Boks to get clean ball and more importantly his ability to stay on...

    Australian Rugby's Market Share/Popularity

But was Walker's "defection" that high profile. In contrast to Medicare, Dell and Latte, it hardly got any fanfare? Freaking good player Walker. Shame it all fell to pieces for him. The issue rugby has in comparison to the other footy codes is that the fans aren't 'feral' enough, so the...

    Robbie Deans Report Card

What could have been? And would have worked a treat if they had a decent 9 and 10 post GG and Bernie. Gits got thrown the 10 jersey because the cupboard was bare. mmmm Gerrard well lets not bring that up :) I also think AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is the best centre with Digby close behind. But when Gerrard...

    LOCKED: Time to Sack Deans?

Reds you really can't compare cricket and rugby as team sports. Rugby has so many more team related variables that cricket simply does not have. It's largely an individual sport with other guys in white watching on. Do the players have confidence in the guy standing next to him. It's no...

    LOCKED: Time to Sack Deans?

Robinson is a great prospect and has showed already that he's up to it, but right now is still settling in IMO. If TPN can play a full season without injury then I'll eat my hat. But again a genuine player that could have a massive future if can get regular time. Moore is a good player and a...

    Brumbies 2011

Good move regarding Larkham What's the deal with Harrison? Did he sign a one year deal at the beginning of the year with a guaranteed coaching gig to follow? Didn't play much. Not a Brumbies fan, but follower, things to look at for 2011: - Kimlin's return - To'omua's emergence - a...

    LOCKED: Time to Sack Deans?

One problem I see from an "outsiders" view is that I can't see who the Wallabies are building their team around. Who are the one or two or three lynchpin guys that selections will revolve around. This can't be underestimated in the greatest team sport around. Whilst it doesn't guarantee...
