    Wallabies vs Boks Bloemfontein

A couple of observations on some of the comments made post game: - Don't understand why some are expecting Palu-like runs from McCalman. Thought the kid went well enough that can be expected, but he is a very different 8 to Palu. He made a few errors in judgement and got caught out, but I...

MOTM 3-2-1, Wallabies v Boks ,Loftus Versfeld

3 Sharpe - played very tight and had a huge workrate 2 Pocock - a couple of very timely breakdown TOs. Somewhat exposed at times when ball went wide by lack of support 1 Beale - counter attack and support play, that's what you want from your FB

Wallabies V Boks Loftus Versfeld Pretoria 28/08/2010

There was a good portion of the game where Rolland blew the whistle at almost every breakdown that players went off their feet though. He did go a bit hit and miss after the 60th minute

    The Haka

Based on Saturday nights defensive effort, might be an idea to bring back the tackle bags response.....

Wallabies V Boks Loftus Versfeld Pretoria 28/08/2010

I don't think it all comes down to Sharpe per se, but a good LO operates when all are doing their job, Sharpe's presence helps the guys around him. Put Simmons and McCalman in there and Mumm (who is no great shakes as a leader) and the task is monumentaly easier for the opposition. Mind you they...

Has to be Juan. The guy has everything the Wallabies are screaming out for right now. OZ LO was going fine until Sharpe went off and gave Matfield fairly easy pickings IMO.

Springbokke vs All Blacks : Soccer Stadium , Soweto

Weight of numbers probably got the ABs that last TO before the Nonu bust and Dagg try. One player I recall went off their feet and should have been penalised but I think the fact that most who drove over remained on their feet halted Owens from pinging. Not the correct call and watching live I...

AUSTRALIAN MEDIA NOT HELPING (Including you Scarfman).

And perhaps you should have been a journo Gnostic with that level of cynicism :)

AUSTRALIAN MEDIA NOT HELPING (Including you Scarfman).

Gagger do you work for Treasury, because I swear I saw a similar bar graph like that which had the Liberal Party's costings on it :) Gnostic - just out of interest have you seen a rugby game recently when the types of antics you don't like have not been on display?

Is that some kind of reverse jinx

    Yellow / Red Card Theory

Interesting theory, and if there is any (remote) truth to it, I don't think the refs back in 2006 got the pre-game talk when Lote "tackled" McCaw....

    Kafe's Chalkboard Bledisloe 1

Rugby has always been about the "contest". Before the allowance of lifting at LO time and putting the ball in under the locks feet at scrum time, theses 2 setpieces were alot more of a contest.

    Wallabies team for next week?

Maybe that's what Beale will provide. Deans used Leon MacDonald as a playmaker despite him playing at 15. But if you get the forward stuff right, the backs should take care of itself IMO. Win the collisions and make the Abs commit numbers and Giteau won't have a need to crab.

Well 'n' and 'b' are right next to each other on the keyboard and could've been a mix up for the tele-prompter. The least of your worries Gnostic...

    Wallabies team for next week?

And they're still very young, so a long long ways to go. They get stuck in that's for sure

    Dwyer speaks truth

It's called adapting Scotty. Rodney So'oialo got pinged for one in a test match and I don't recall us getting away with there on in. George Smith got away with murder for many a year for coming in from the side. It seemed the ref interpretated the gate as wide as the Red Sea for Georgie...

    Drew Mitchell - not suspended

Elsom got the warning about the niggly stuff, but did he go back and tell his team. Don't think so. It's silly but there are so many other silly things that go "unpunished" during a test match.

    Wallabies team for next week?

Would tend to agree in most cases, but with JOC (James O'Connor) at FB and not on the wing, you can have him inserting into the attacking line as a distributor, much like Mils has been used in the past. Plus with the way Giteau plays you need runners and ball carriers (ie guys running off his shoulder etc)...
