NZ's NPC tournament is starting this Thursday with all games live on Foxtel.

Anyone know how many aussies playing across the ditch in this tournament?
I know of 2.

2. C. Lealiifano
3. SBW?? is he an aussie?

SBW represented the Kiwis in Int'l league so is not an "Aussie".

Josh Tatupu from the Western Force is in the Otago squad.

I had that avatar because I lost a bet with Thomond about how much the AB's were going to dick Ireland by - he said lots, I said bugger all, I lost the bet, ended up with that inbred as my avatar for a month. I'm back to the worlds best player now though.

A random channel surf on Fox Sports tonight yielded the Canterbury vs Hawkes Bay ITM match. Final score 23-23, and not a bad game.
Thought I might have got a glimpse of SBW, but he did not seem to be there for the Cantab's.

This lead me to think about the relative skill levels in comparison to our own Shute Shield Clubs (Qld readers may wish to substitute my reference to the Shute Shield Competition - no offense was intended).

Since the advent of Professional rugby, I can not recall a game between a Kiwi provincial team (as opposed to S12/S14) and Aust team (Sydney rep team, NSW country, or even one of the Clubs - Randwick, Easts, Gordon, Brothers etc).

Do they still go on tour at this level and can anyone recall recent results at the semi-professional level between us and them?

What happened to Air NZs sponsorship? They've been involved for years. Are they saving their cash for the RWC 2011? I assume this ITM mob is the NZ equivalent of Bunnings?
