Australia A v Japan XV matches

Surprised he isn't getting a run this week tbh. Did he get any minutes last week?

A bit of noise on the socials (probably unsurprisingly) about how they should’ve preferenced a ‘local supplier’. I personally much prefer a globally-known entity over yet another pop-up local brand… Canterbury have offices in Sydney which probably employ more people than the micro-brands anyway

Playing kit will no doubt be much the same, but my fingers are crossed for an 04/05/06 style long sleeve cotton number with the little pop of yellow

Yep - typically happens with last-season's remaining gear at around this time every year, but the last time I saw it this discounted was when they changed from ZOO to Dynasty...

I reckon you're on the money - as someone commented, Dynasty made a 'farewell' post on their Facebook too

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Crikey that's poor - Optus' streaming platform was / still is having major stability issues for the Prem League too? I have more random playback issues with Kayo than I do Stan these days tbh.

Most of the flagged changes are just updates and/or providing additional structure to existing laws, which I think is the most efficient way to pick off the low hanging fruit that fans dislike (i.e. deliberate knockdowns, slow scrums/rucks). The issue I see with removing laws (particularly...

    Australian Rugby / RA

In saying that, the release for the 2018 renewal of the ASICS partnership reads as though Schoolboys, U18s, and U20s were part of the broader deal that was meant to run until 2025. https://australia.rugby/news/2018/11/08/rugby-australia-and-asics-ink-long-term-partnership-extension

The 'must roll towards the sideline' is a change, isn't it? I assume the logic is to stop 'accidentally' slowing down the ruck by exiting towards the opposition try line Don't mind the three-phase advantage as it will limit the almost-guaranteed try situation you mention - assuming I'm...

    Wallabies 2023

Also massive commendations to Rugby AU / Wallabies for how it's been managed and communicated with transparency and public support right from the get go. It's the model all sporting teams/orgs should take here on out (if the individual consents to it, of course)

    Refereeing decisions

I like it too. It's a tough gig at any level, let alone officiating tests, that involves quite a lot of sacrifice along the way which should be recognised.

Silver lining - the casuals who tuned in for Bled 1 and enjoyed it probably didn't have their newfound love muddied by Bled 2's shithousery :D

So membership info has just been announced. Prices are down on last year (you'd hope so with fewer games) and no membership packs this year - just a credit ($45 for Silver/Gold/Platinum, $90 for Ruby) for the Reds Store. Can't decide how I feel about that - on one hand, you can put the value...

Thanks Reg, some interesting insights in there. I particularly note the feature of Petaia and Wright (who is above Koro) in attacking influence which, given the above chat on wingers' effectiveness, is certainly something.

I just can't see Banks being a part of that 'top 3' conversation, especially when he probably wouldn't be a hugely noticeable step up from someone like Kellaway. The other consideration being that his broken arm was a bad one, and could take an extended period to be good to go again.

Don't mind this approach in theory, but it will have to be well managed. The issue with bringing in specialists as needed is that it's reactive rather than proactive, and also doesn't help on the continuity/consistency front.

Certainly looks like Nela’s been putting in the S&C work
