Wallabies v Springboks II, Allianz Stadium 7:35pm 03/09/22

Have to feel for Tate - puts in another solid performance, even by his coach's own admission, only to be rotated out for the hometown boy when Tate didn't get that same opportunity at Suncorp.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Cumulative total though? I'm not so sure. Really rough estimates/averages across both Super Rugby and Wallabies seasons - tried to use actual recent ratings as a rough guide: 91 Super Rugby regular season matches x ~100,000 = 9.1m 7 Super Rugby finals matches x ~200,000 = 1.4m Total Super Rugby = 10.5m 9 Wallabies matches in...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Reckon a handful of tests across a year do bigger cumulative numbers than multiple games of Super per week, plus finals? Probably, but I reckon it'd be closer than expected. It'd be interesting to see the breakdown

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Yes but that would've always been the deal? Likewise for Stan/9's coverage of QPR, SS and Wallabies.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

This coming at a time when NZ rugby is in its poorest state for some period, while Aus seems to be gathering momentum, is quite telling

Isn't the broadcast revenue put into a pool and split currently, which is what the whole fuss is about? I'd assume it's an even split of all revenue, incl. broadcast Edit: answer is in the article / Slim's post

    Concussions and Protecting Our Players

More than likely yes, as atrophy is thought to be directly linked with exposure - as in the paper @Tex just linked, you don't have to be taking knocks 6 days a week for 30 years for it to occur. Obviously a lot of what we know stems from professionals who've often donated their brains based on...

    Concussions and Protecting Our Players

IMO it's had a massive impact on the decline in participation/popularity of junior and schoolboy rugby in the last 15+ years, and it's not often discussed. The perceived risk is massive incentive for some parents to sway their kids towards soccer, basketball, etc.

    Concussions and Protecting Our Players

The "you get what comes to you" approach is probably unwise if you want contact sports to maintain popularity long-term, with the occurrence of CTE becoming increasingly known. Aside from this, there are still so many unknowns when it comes to the required level of exposure, force, etc. that I...

    Wallabies 2023

I'm not sure "he" was doing this, so much as his agent. Pretty hard to put the blame on a kid who has no doubt been pushed into a bigger/better/longer contract by his agent et al. and is probably just doing what he's been led to believe is the right move

Yeah if people have concerns about Tupou’s ‘attitude’, I can’t wait until they see Latrell

In this situation, there’s no chance Hodge is getting picked as one of our 3 internationals

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Why don't we just bin live games, pre-record for release every Monday at 7am, and then everyone can watch at their discretion throughout the week?

Wallabies v Springboks - Adelaide Oval, Sat 27th August, 2022

Yeah even Faf's hit on White post-dive was pretty grubby imo. Understandably wanted to get one back, but White had already been on the ground for a second, he doesn't pull out at all, and it could be viewed as dangerous contact to head/neck. A bit surprised it hasn't been noted much tbh.

Wallabies v Springboks - Adelaide Oval, Sat 27th August, 2022

I don't think anyone would disagree that it was a wise move tactically (although I imagine the TMO would've had a look at it regardless). The issue is that it was such an exaggerated dive given the level of contact; a really bad look for the game. The slowmo where you can literally see his...
