Wallabies v Pumas, Bankwest (Parra), Sat 5th December

TB was one of only four players (Tom Wright, Nic White and BPA the others) who made a line break in the last test against the Pumas. He has been slowly working his way back to form, and his passing is probably the weakest part of his game atm. Happy to see him on the bench, but still would...

Wallabies v Pumas, Bankwest (Parra), Sat 5th December

Looks like the standings of the hookers has been established. 1 - BPA, 2 - FF (Folau Fainga'a), 3 - Uelese. Hodge at 15 will be interesting to watch. Have been calling for him to play there for a number of years now as it looks to be the spot that best suits his strengths; long kicking, good defense, and slow...

Wallabies v Pumas, Bankwest (Parra), Sat 5th December

I'm not sure it will happen Barb, but I like the logic. By the same logic, Hosea should come in to the 23 for Rob Simmons. Philip, LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) and Hosea would be the strongest, if not most experienced second row we would have put out all year if it were to happen.

I'd have no issue with Maddocks at fullback, but he is not a winger. If that message from the Rebels and Cheika's misuse of him doesn't resonate with Rennie et all, then there will be a few more questions to be asked.

New Zealand vs Argentina, Nov 28, 2020

NZ played with much more intensity and speed while the Pumas were mistake prone and it showed in the final result. I think it could have been a lot closer had the Pumas played with the same accuracy and skills they had brought to their earlier games. Certainly, their defensive efforts were...

    Wallabies 2020

Perhaps a case of quantity rather than quality.

    Wallabies 2020

Surely Simmons was the lineout caller. I'm told he's the best in the world.;)

    Wallabies 2020

Wait til the Brumbies kick the Reds arses again and take out SRAu21. We'll see who's there or not.:)

    Reds 2021

Reg, I think it's 4 games home and 4 away in SRAu, and 2 games at home in TT. Two TT games away and one in a neutral venue when all teams play at a location yet to be decided.

    Australia v Argentina - 21 November, Newcastle

I agree, and I was trying to say that there are many other factors affecting the numbers that show up in the stats, and we cannot just look at them in isolation, maybe not even worth looking at them at all. Better to go with one's own overall impressions, even though they will vary from one...

    Australia v Argentina - 21 November, Newcastle

That second off side penalty against TT was pure bullshit. He came from an onside position and was even behind two or three other Wallabies in the defensive line in front of him. Makes me wonder about all of Williams penalties against him. Do they have history from TT's time in Auckland? Think...

    Australia v Argentina - 21 November, Newcastle

Cyclo, I reckon there is a fair bit of variation in players' involvements disclosed in those figures. What it all means though is anybody's guess. On the number of runs, I'd say that Sio, BPA, TT and Hooper look to be slackers. However, the game plan might have been for the front rowers to...

    Wallabies 2020

I believe Powell has been released.

    Wallabies 2020

I agree that it is unlikely, though not unknown, for players to be moved from spot to spot, but I'm also sure that there was a full bench 8 available. No obvious reason to play a bench prop on the side when both Samu and McReight were in the squad.

    Wallabies 2020

And Naisarani has just been released from the Wallabies squad again. Can't see much future for him under Rennie.

Sorry KOB and BH but there isn't a sarcasm/irony button available. Maybe I should have ended with;).

    Australia v Argentina - 21 November, Newcastle

From that starting point, I'm surprised Jake Gordon didn't get to the ball before the touch in goal.

    Australia v Argentina - 21 November, Newcastle

Did you not notice that Tom Wright played the second fullback role, but after he was replaced that role fell to Hodge. It quite dramatically affected the structure of the halves, and hence the whole backline.

    Australia v Argentina - 21 November, Newcastle

Dave, I've posted earlier, but it's worth repeating I think. The change in structure and failure to perform in the last 20 coincides with Tom Wright being replaced. With both Koroibete and Daugunu on the ground, Hodge then had to play the second fullback role, which Wright had handled so well in...

Pfitzy, isn't there now an offside line at a tackle too?
