BH, wouldn't the projected return by Swinton have assumed 2 trial matches? If so, it probably means his return will now be delayed I'd expect. Or was there an end date nominated for the period of suspension?
Looking at this year's additions to the playing squad, we have:
Lachie Albert, 20, promoted from the Academy. No previous Super Rugby team (that I'm aware of).
Archer Holz, 21, from the SS, no previous Super Rugby team.
Tom Hooper, 21, from the Academy, no previous Super Rugby team.
Lachlan Lonergan, 21, local...
I reckon Nic is the number one No 9 for this year, at least. Otherwise, why let Joe Powell go?
Lonergan is certainly proficient as well as being a top notch goal kicker, while Fines is, imo, the better player and has exceptional speed. If Noah kicks on as expected, especially with his goal...
Good summary TSR.
There aren't too many uunknowns in the Brumbies squad so not sure that I can nominate the surprise packets who might emerge.
My guess is that Jahrome Brown might make his mark in the 7 jersey.
Not sure that Ryan Lonergan will challenge Nic White but he will certainly be...
I am a bit of a skeptic when it comes to Tizzano. I thought at U20s he was a large step down from Fraser McReight, and I've seen little or nothing from him at the Tahs to suggest he would be Wallaby potential any time soon. I would really like to see Jahrome Brown get more time at 7 for the...
Fa'amausili is the one I suspect will have difficulty making the top grade. Absolutely enjoy the way he plays with ball in hand but otherwise I think he's a bit limited and I doubt he will be a Wallaby anytime soon. HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes) is the standout prop coming through.
I am also a big fan of FLW (Fergus Lee-Warner) and would...
TSR, I think you might be writing TK off a little prematurely. He didn't have the best of years in SRAu 2020, but not nearly so far off his best level as you seem to be implying. Think, from memory (which isn't so good in the twilight years) he missed a couple of games for the Brumbies but was...
The new year is with us and the teams are all probably back into hard work. Time to air our opinions and make predictions about the season to come.
Starting with the newest side, the Western Force, they're putting together an impressive roster with the help of Argentinean players and they...
Not sure that there is much between all the Aussie squads but I have a great deal of confidence in the Brumbies coaching group to get the best performances out of the team.
The starting side will look a lot like last year's champion team.
Sio, Fainga'a, Ala'alatoa, Swain, Neville, Valetini, Brown, Samu, White, Lolesio, Kata, Simone, Ikitau, Wright, Banks.
Will give the SRAu comp a real shake again.
If I'm not mistaken, Shambeckler had time at the Force, Rebels and Brumbies, did he not? Just didn't realise the potential he showed at U20s, unfortunately.
In our dreams Dan, in our dreams. Unfortunately, I think Covid will get quite a bit worse before we'll see any improvement.
My fear is that the plethora of vaccines coming out do not stop anyone catching and passing on the virus. It is possible, maybe probable that many vaccinated...
