    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

He mentioned Indo-Pacific - so I'd assume that would include islands in the Pacific? (not necessarily as a location for a team to play - I'm talking players and coaches from those areas, based in Australia)

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

The teams don't have to play in those places - the teams can be based in Sydney or Brisbane. EDIT: Just like the West Indies played World Series Cricket in Australia

    Where to for Super Rugby?

But, is doing what they did going to do anything other than stave off bankruptcy for a couple of years? The professional game is no more sustainable in Australia now that it was 6 months ago - some would contend that it's actually worse.

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

The ARU have very little credibility and are in a very weak position. I find it hard to believe that they could/would be able to stop anything.

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

Still plenty of our good players heading to Europe and Japan instead of waiting around for the possibility of Wallaby call-up. Plus there' now around 35 less "official" professional rugby careers in Aust.

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

Wel, he has the Force on board and I'd imagine he'd find fairly fertile ground in Tonga and Somoa with any sort of funding. You'd also have to think that he'd give Fiji a better deal than the NRC. There's 4 out of 6 already.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

You may not have meant to, but you've set up a straw man argument with this one. What was asserted was that SS had "thrived since becoming independent from the ARU." (by me) No one said it was "better", that is a construct that you have placed on it. Then dru said " in its home base the...

To a greater extent than anything that the ARU is running though.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Why would anyone running a successful competition want the ARU involved? SS has thrived since becoming independent.

Does this man have no shame? If only TF had come to us earlier. FFS.

Don't think so. Seating looks more steeply tiered and upper levels are nowhere near as far from the field.

Meanwhile, the ARU want to let the NRL walk in unopposed to a facility like this.

Clyne as we know him And in happier times screwing customers.

Indeed, but no matter how important the case, the judge still has to get it right. The ARU would have us believe that it was an open and shut case and they were originally expecting a judgement last Wednesday. Sounds like things might be a little more complicated than some might like to think.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The fact that it's taken well over a week for His Honour to decide, one assumes that the issues aren't as clearcut as the ARU might have liked.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Depends on what if any orders that the court makes. For example the ARU could be prevented from participating in Super Rugby unless it abides by its agreement with WF. Big banks tend only to win in court when they use financial power to overwhelm litigants. Clyne can't rely on that here. He's fronting...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Well, we had $31 million in the banks post RWC 2003. I'd call that lots of money to begin with. Alas our administrators wasted it, whereas NH admistrators have used similar windfalls to build the game.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Indeed. I caught a game this afternoon from the Pro 14 featuring the Kings and the Scarlets. Highly entertaining rugby. 57-10 to the Scarlets. Those on these threads who propagate the myth that Britsh and Irish teams all play stodgy, forward-based 10 man rugby are at least 20 years behind...

It's a long road to hoe. Needs to be almost built from scratch. It won't be easy and there'll be pain.. The alternative is to keep to the current course and suffer slow death.
