It's just as bad, just doesn't have the ethnic labels. Same cronyism, it's just corporate instead of cultural.

Appointing/reappointing people and being involved in commercial relations with some of those same people (including sitting on the boards or other companies), is hardly what I would call independent.

^^^Noting that at least 2 current ARU directors have commercial arrangements with the ARU (disclosed in the accounts)

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

I can remember when World Series Cricket and Super League came in. The supporters of the establishment said many of the same things: "Where will they get the players from." "Who would want to play for a breakaway group" "How will they solve logistics" I have no idea whether this will get...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

We have a Senate enquiry because of what is being done to the game in this country. By their own admission they were 2 years away from isolvency. The action of removing the Force at best puts that back a couple of years. It's a bit like selling the TV because you run out of food, it's not a...

How? In practice the mendicant RUs in SA, Tas & NT are completely reliant on the ARU for funding and development. With the 6 votes from NSW & Qld, the ARU, NSWRU and QRU can do what they like and appoint who they like.

The man has absolutely no shame at all. Does he not know that the Senate held an enquiry in to soccer in Australia? Or does he not care? Or is he simply being misleading?

Clyne's been there before and was able to treat them with contempt as he was running one of the big banks. No longer has that up his sleeve. EDIT: He also has a far more independent and far less deferential senate than he had back in 2010. Can't see Hinch, Lambie, Hanson et al being concerned...

His last performance wasn't a good as you might think.;) Well, there was one case in which the courts (rare) did prevent the NAB from destroying a customer at its discretion, in Kay v NAB (NSWSC 1116, 30 September 2010) Rothman J found: “From day one of the contract, NAB was in breach … NAB...

They would do a far better job than the rugby establishment in Australia.:) Not even the pythons could write a script that matches the real life of Australian rugby.

Are you sure that's how contract law works? It seems at odds to the observable workings of most sports.

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

A single body like the RFU, where all clubs across the nation are afiliated with the national body and have a say in the process.

And the good senators might enjoy seeing Clyne squirm, given his NAB past.

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

Anything which breaks the control of the ARU, NSWRU and QRU is a massive step forward for rugby in Australia.

You're assuming that anyone would want to "rival" super rugby. I'm assuming that they've cornered the market on their particular rugby product.

A politician doing something that means something to their constituents, scandalous.

Very easy to amend it to "super rugby"competition. You're in Parliament, not a court of law. EDIT: And of course you've also noticed clause (f)?

You're looking for consistency, logic and honesty where there is none.

They aren't sustainable scenarios, they are windfall scenarios. Sustainable means that the game doesn't have to rely on windfalls.
