I'm sure that you're right, but I'm speechless. That probably says more about the WR (World Rugby) ranking system than it does about us.

The Wallabies make the long trek from Bleomfontein to Mendoza to finish our TRC campaign. As near as I can tell it's about 30 hours plus in travel from Johannesburg to Buenos Aires via Sao Paulo followed by another flight to Mendoza.

Springbokke vs Wallabies @ Osfontein 30/9/2017

None of the team were terrible. It's just those little errors which they all make (some more regularly than others). The disappointing thing is that many of these errors are either in the core skills of the game or the core skills for their position. There's also some glaring examples of lack...

Although Knoxy, Campo and the Ella brothers could and did kick well and regularly.

Good analysis. What gets me is that he's been playing test rugby and super rugby for quite a few years now and it staggers me that in a country where AFL is the major winter sport that we can't get someone somewhere to at least fix the technical aspects of punt kicking an oval shaped ball...

Springbokke vs Wallabies @ Osfontein 30/9/2017

That's true. What's also true is that we seem to have far too many incomplete footballers in the team. It's a major structural deficiency which limits the ability of the team quite significantly. All these little errors caused by skill deficiencies serve to let the pressure off the opposition...

That's right, the only certainty with SANZAAR is uncertainty.

I just caught parts of Cheika's press conference on the news. While I'm generally a Cheika supporter, I don't think he did himself any favours with that performance.

I'm not so sure that he has no problem though. I'd have thought that grabbing someone by the hair would constitute a high tackle. As does grabbing someone by the collar and dragging or slinging them to the ground. Both potential red card offences. (e) Dangerous tackling. A player must not...

What is the biggest mistake made with Australian Rugby?

Nobody was really given an opportunity to "get behind it". It was imposed from above by people who thought that the knew it all. So, let's refresh everyone's memory about how it went in NSW: The ARU gave the NSWRU 4 licences, the NSWRU onsold one of these to Melbourne, the NSWRU/ARU then...

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

The players are going in ever increasing numbers already. We've just cut the number of professional contracts available by 20%, so stand-by for another increase in departures when the impact of that fully kicks in. We're also seeing an increasing number of players who grew up and/or were born...

We have different opinions and certainly completely different experiences with the PI community in terms of their preference for codes. I agree that in the end they will follow the money, but that doesn't reflect their personal preference in my experience.

In general terms I'm not quite sure what any format would finally look like. I don't see it as being a carbon copy of NRC as I think that there are definitely one too many NSW teams in the NRC to translate to a domestic competition and possibly one too many Qld teams (although I can be convinced...

You can't answer any of those questions until you have a product to market. Nor can you put a product together until you have all sorts of information which only the ARU really has legal access to. All people here can do is put forward suggestions - it's worth noting that many posters forsaw...

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

The NRC is largely invisible because it's played at the same time as NRL and AFL finals. It will never get any media oxygen as long as it's played at this time of year. And every fourth year it will also be swamped by RWC as well. It (the domestic national league) needs to be played in the...

I assume that he's smart enough not to try to manage a sport himself. The best businessmen employ the best to do the job properly for them.

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

As Michael notes in a subsequent post, without significant interest in Australia, a Trans-Tasman competition has all the same issues regarding funding. I think a domestic league is feasible and with the right management it could be done. Sadly I have no confidence whatsoever the in ARU...
