    Round 3 - Rebels v Highlanders - Fri 1st of March@7:45pm - AAMI Park

Jesus Christ. These errors are keeping the Highlanders within Cooee of the Rebels. This game should be over already.

    Round 3 - Rebels v Highlanders - Fri 1st of March@7:45pm - AAMI Park

Aus teams need to work on the accuracy in the handling of the ball. Rebels could be 2 or 3 tries further ahead than at present if not for all the mistakes. I understand that they are playing flat but a important element to that strategy is execution and as a block all of our teams tend to be...

    Proposed Nations Championship

That would work as well. The beauty of such a format it that it would provide a degree of flexibility to change the numbers if need be.

    Global Rapid Rugby

The Sunwolves have played out of Mong Kok. It's likely seeing as they are only playing two or three games in HK this year they didn't see the value in working out a deal with the stadium admin.

    Proposed Nations Championship

The UEFA Nations league format is the best and WR (World Rugby) should just copy it. It involves multiple division of 4 x 3 groupings. Under this format teams play either each other twice for home and away or their group once in July and a corresponding group in November with the respective winner of these...

    Global Rapid Rugby

It's a newer, rectangular sports specific (so no running track) stadium. Has a smaller capacity than Aberdeen (roughly 6500 as opposed to 9k) which means you are more likely to fill it. Which will look better on TV. Overall, it's a much more professional and up to date facility. Same with Jalan...

    Global Rapid Rugby

The Force are set to play ten games from the looks of it. With the others teams playing four respectively. Not a bad set up but I wonder why they just didn't go with a combined 5 team - 8 game/per schedule. Anyway. Looking at where the games in HK and Singapore are going to be played I have to...

    Proposed Nations Championship

I read their statement on their website which says a lot without saying anything. It actually give the sense that they were caught off guard by the adverse reaction this received.

    Proposed Nations Championship

Well, this is the article pretty much saying it is https://www.telegraph.co.uk/rugby-union/2019/02/28/world-league-dead-water-leading-players-intervene-welfare-issues/. As for the RC. I'm actually in favour of expansion. I'd even involve Japan, the US and Fiji. Play it in a straight 6 game series.

    Proposed Nations Championship

A new article is suggests the WL is now DOA at least in the reported form after player (and I suspect public) backlash to the plan.

    Proposed Nations Championship

Use a circuit breaker in the form of a pro/rel game. This would be heavily in favour of the WL teams. Even the US. A full strength Eagles are no joke these days.

    Proposed Nations Championship

Looking at the potential teams in a theoretical 2nd. If you based it geographically speaking (so Europe, Asia-Pacific, Americas and Africa) at that level and went with just say 4 team in each group. You'd have something like this; Europe - Spain, Russia, Romania and Georgia. Americas - Canada...

    Proposed Nations Championship

Christ that would be heaps better than the plan the article suggests. Everyone would be able to participate and we could keep pro/rel as per my post a bit earlier. You could even once again use existing structures with some tweaks if you want to keep it to twelve without too much issue...

    Proposed Nations Championship

We're the cash strapped Unions. So of course we must be the reasons for this happening. Even though as you allude to its on the record that we were (at least publicly) open to pro/rel and are the ones making the biggest structural changes for this to happen.
  15. WorkingClassRugger

    Proposed Nations Championship

Here' the thing. They could have gone with 16 teams easily enough in my opinion via 4 groups of 4. Three of the 6Ns teams in each conference plus 1 from outside. The groups from each respective grouping then play teams from their opposing group (north vs north and south vs south) meaning they...

    Proposed Nations Championship

What pisses me off the most is that Fiji which are 9th in the world have earned the right to be there and are being completely screwed over. That and the one really compelling element in the 2 divisions with pro/rel that albeit tenuous at least provided a pathway for T2 nations has in the name...

2019 TV ratings and crowd numbers

Got 73k last season against the Reds in Brisbane. If the Aus teams continue to perform hopefully we can see the season average top 80k.If the Reds and the Brumbies kick on and the Tahs actually find some form that could certainly happen.

    NRC onwards and upwards

I actually don't want it scrapped. I'm more thinking of alternatives if those that make the decisions decide to scrap it. I would prefer if it remained and actually got the resourcing and promotion it deserved. The NRC has been massively let down in those regards.

    Brumbies Vs Chiefs

    There was.
  20. WorkingClassRugger

    Brumbies Vs Chiefs

Got to say. This has probably been the best start to Super Rugby across the board for several years. Hopefully the crowds and viewers begin to really reflect this. The Brumbies certainly deserve substantially more.
