    Global Rapid Rugby

The Hunter region is fairly comparable to the GC in population from memory and you could probably look to draw in both the Lake Macquarie and Central Coast regions which would build that number out to a tad over 1m people. Should be enough to build an local audience audience. I don’t mind it...

It’s more the inconsistency than anything else. As for PI players. The answer is money. But for Ponga that’s not the case as his earning capacity playing for either side in either code is comparatively similar.

I’ve clearly decided to shit stir here. Don’t bring things like facts into it.

Does it? I'll never understand thr whole selective nationality thing. Technically speaking I'm Irish having been born to at least one native born Irish citizen who lived in Ireland for at least the first 18 years of her life. But if I were to be in the position pf reresenting either in anything...

I know WA is three hours behind in general but I wasn't aware it was a week behind in the news cycle.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

The Welsh regions set up is a mess. The Ospreys are DOA for all intensive purposes and will be lucky to see out the season financially at present. This isn't so much a merger and a takeover.

In League he's declared for Australia. It being the country of his birth and were he was raised.

I looked up the paper and it's authors have made it quite clear that much more study is required.

They're looking at Colwyn Bay or perhaps Wrexham in the north of Wales. The Welsh U20s play out of Colwyn and attract good crowds so it will be interesting to see how it turns out.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

It's been a really inconsistent ARC for the Eagles. They've shown periods of play that are world class followed by taking 20-30 minute naps. Last week against Brazil it looked like they were going to blow the Brazilians away only for forget that Rugby goes for 80 mins. Hell, they didn't even...

Bloody horrific illness. Recently read a piece out of SA that referenced a research paper that suggested a link between playing collision sports (particularly at the elite level) and a higher occurrence of MND. Bloody frightening.

    Proposed Nations Championship

The can make it work by using the current June/July and November test windows. While leaving the 6N's/RC completely out of it. Two groups of 7/8. Three games played in the June/July window and 3 in November. Winner of each group progress to the final. Simple.

    Proposed Nations Championship

That's the opposite of the conversations I've had with guys in the US. They know the why they're being included but see the opportunities to grow on and off the pitch as huge positives. These are guys linked to MLR so there is a degree of bias as it would help drive growth in the league...

It was frustrating to watch as a neutral. The Rebels should have won that comfortably but sloppy hands kept the Highlanders in it.

    Proposed Nations Championship

You're suggesting a circuit breaker in the form of a pro/rel game. Which is the most logical compromise in my opinion as well. At least for the first 10 years the chances of a 2nd division team winning that fixture is remote at best so there's little to really be concerned with. And if a 1st div...

For both. The 5:30 slot on a Friday is less than desirable for Aus audiences. Realistically how many of us are able to get in front of a TV before 6:30 at the earliest. I know I'm certainly not. I don't get home til 7 most nights and that's if I leave at 5 on the dot. Which rarely happens. So...

63k for the Hurricanes/Brumbies and 75k for the Rebels/Landers. Both of those are actually pretty good.

    Round 3 - Rebels v Highlanders - Fri 1st of March@7:45pm - AAMI Park

If not for the handling errors the Rebels would have shredded the Landers in the first 60 mins of the game.

    Round 3 - Rebels v Highlanders - Fri 1st of March@7:45pm - AAMI Park

In what should have been a rout the Rebels made life really difficult for themselves with just sloppy handling. Koribete and Jones need to be given it for their poor hands among others. Ridiculous.
