    Waratahs 2019

The reality about representative selection is that they just have to be the best available at that time, not the best ever. There aren't any 50 test players who are crap in reality

    Waratahs 2019

Deserved? Well they got most points and "8" is the only logical format with structure, What I really like was the way so many of the tries were created with great hands and catch & pass support play - real team tries - that is what I was happy about in the year

    Waratahs 2019

I don't know how accurate it is but because the Sea Eagle don't pay for exclusive use, the place is an unofficial dog park for the locals, players have been said to not enjoy being tackled there at times

I hope they do a solid dog poop patrol before the game at Brookvale

    Waratahs 2019

If you want to understand why the Tahs were so successful this season have look at the try of the year. They were the best team, they played the better ball in hand team rugby

    Wallabies 2018 Spring Tour

I don't understand Hollaway, he looked great at lock for the Tahs, but he isn't a test lock and his work at 6/8 is underwhelming - so much so that we have seen Wells own the spot all season

    Wallabies 2018 Spring Tour

I would have taken Gordon and Raru myself. Gordon has a very good kick, good box kick and good, long clearance from 9. The Tahs used him well there early in the season. "If" support play is a "one trick" I wish the whole side had it. Powell? I don't think he is consistent enough, does some...

    Wallabies 2018 Spring Tour

Forwards Jermaine Ainsley (1 Test, Melbourne Rebels, 23) Allan Ala'alatoa (29 Tests, Brumbies, 24) Rory Arnold (18 Tests , Brumbies, 28) Adam Coleman (28 Tests, Melbourne Rebels, 26) Angus Cottrell* (uncapped, Melbourne Rebels, 28) Jack Dempsey (6 Tests, NSW Waratahs, 24) Folau Fainga’a (5 Tests...

    Rebels 2019

I wonder if QC (Quade Cooper) will be coachable in 2019 and be prepared to play to the game plan or will the coach build a game plan around him. The latter is how the Link made it work

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

I guy I used to work with was a fringe sheffield shield batsman, he use to explain batting at a decent level as doing 50m sprints then have to get the heart rate back under control quickly to face the pace bowler again and again, somewhat like a biathlon athlete. I see a hooker needs the same...

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

I firmly think it technique failing under pressure, the tempo and pressure of test match rugby must drag that heart rate right up. Then a hooker has to do a zen like drop of that HR and hit his mark. Again and again

If they all aren't out every day between now and February practising under serious physical stress they are idiots.

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Earlier this year I thought Fitzpatrick would be an option because he does the hooker stuff well. Then he didn't. Too many of the list above struggle to throw accurately, we need a unit who can hit his jumpers

Our Japan game vs the ABs maybe quite experimental from the ABs

Wobblies v pumas - is Salta at altitude edition

The forwards stepped up in the second half and we got some front foot ball and could sustain some pressure

Wobblies v pumas - is Salta at altitude edition

I think Beale is at his best when he isn't the focus of attack, at 10 he tries to make stuff happen himself instead giving others opportunities. I think 12 or 15 is his spot. To'omua is solid at best, but can be that solid, safe pivot at 12. I would personally have had Beale at 15 with To'omua...

Wobblies v pumas - is Salta at altitude edition

As Dwyer said on some podcast last week the best 10s under play their hand most of the time and facilitate the rest of the team. But without us winning our set piece and getting some front foot ball no 10 looks good I still think there is daylight between Foley and any other option we have at...

Being able to hold up the scrum and hit your jumpers will be a pleasant start
