    Queensland Reds 2024

Also, who is Tana Wilson? Given the Brothers listing I assume it's actually Will Wilson, unless I've missed something...

    Queensland Reds 2024

Great set of variations and some interesting names in those teams. I'm a bit surprised Zander is being used given he's not being given a contract, I don't mind too much but would've preferred Harry Lloyd had a run. Great to see Toomaga-Allen coming in early (and playing for Norths), George...

    Rugby 7s general chat

Yeah, he's absolutely a guy I'd have in a super side, where he'll always do a job for you. But at the rate that exceptionally talented and athletically gifted wingers come through I just can't see him ever getting much of a toe hold at the international level, at least not at wing. I do think...

    Rugby 7s general chat

I don't think he's a good enough strike winger to have been worth selecting. He would've had to be in contention for the starting side to have offered real value there.

    Queensland Reds 2024

No, not a complete listing. The best I've found are https://all.rugby/ and https://www.itsrugby.co.uk/ Between those two you can get a reasonable picture based on what has been announced in the press. There is a real lack of data on contract lengths with Japanese teams in particular.

Toole can probably go back and forth relatively easily, but I think another 7s stint would set Pietsch’s wallabies hopes back a fare way.

    Rugby World Cup 2023

It's where the independence of the top 14 lets them down. Lock has become a really sort after position there and given the specific body type it's much easier for teams to buy in stars from overseas then find and grow them locally. Skelton, Arnold, Meafou, Amatosero, Simmons, Douglas, Coleman...

    RWC: Pool C - Wallabies v Georgia, SdF Sunday 10th September 2am

Not sure what your point is but you're missing half the wallabies staff: David Rath - AUS Learning Coordinator John Clarke - ENG Strength and Conditioning Nigel Ashley-Jones - AUS assistant Strength and Conditioning John Pryor - AUS Speed Consultant Warrick Harrington - AUS Sports Scientist...

    Queensland Reds 2024

He did a bit in his last season for mixed results. Like Uru he's not a terrible option there, but depending on the rest of the tight 5 we can end up lacking bulk.

Now is the time to be signing a younger back row to bring them through, ideally they'll be playing a minor role next year, looking to be pushing for real game time at the end of a ~3 year deal. Can't just wait for when we need one to start.

    RWC: Pool C - Wallabies v Georgia, SdF Sunday 10th September 2am

I mostly agree, but I think I'd rather be up against Wales than either Argentina or England.

I'd hope for Kiss to be teasing it at a press conference at the same time as his coaching team for his first season in charge it'd be someone around 19-21, relatively ready for super rugby. If they're younger than that I'd expect a Tupou level prospect. Definitely looks like there's room for a...

    Best Number of Subtitutes Pole

But is a lack of fatigue a problem in and of itself? Or is it just one way to ensure the game opens up into the second half? For mine changes around de-emphasizing the maul and increasing the pace the game is played at more directly would be a better way of going about this and avoids the...

Reds coaching team locked in: https://reds.rugby/news/queensland-rugby-announce-2024-reds-coaching-staff-202391 It looks like a solid group, particularly happy to see Zane Hilton coming back in. Strong London Irish connection otherwise, which hopefully means they can hit the ground running as a...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2023

Definitely think Harrison Lloyd should be there as a prop, he'd probably be my first choice as a club prop to call up as a guy who could probably slot straight back into super if needed. Would be great if Massimo De Lutiis can come up for this too, having him play challenger series and the...

    Best Number of Subtitutes Pole

What's the actual problem people are trying to solve by reducing/removing substitutions? As it stands I can't see any of the main stakeholders going for a reduction in substitution from a player welfare perspective alone and I have feeling game quality concerns are probably better solved in the...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2023

Wilson, Uru, O'Connor and Paisami are off with the Barbarians, I can't see them playing these games. Also don't think anyone released/signed elsewhere will play, so no Zander or Dobbins

    France v Wallabies (RWC Warm-up), 28/8 1.45AM AEST

The biggest issue with Gordon being overworked in defence seemed to come from Danty targeting his channel off of 8 man lineouts (or shorter lineouts with Danty set wider and a pod closer in to hold the forwards). It seems like an intentional strategy from the French to exploit the significant...
