Yep, the FULL sign has been up at Terrace for quite some time, so any lad introduced on a "deal" does cost somebody something, whether that be a spot at the school or a financial loss of fees. Maybe that is not the case at other schools, but surely it costs something to educate these sports...

Hamiso would probably be the first lad picked in a Qld Schools team this year, that doesn't mean he will play though. He was picked in both Qld1 ( opens) and Qld Red (U16) last year and for what ever reason opted not to play in either, maybe the league programme does have his priority?

My apologies GO , misunderstood what you meant by top end talent being thin. My point though stands , the top end talent in this year's U16 group is spread pretty evenly. NC, BBC and GT all had very similar numbers selected for both the U16 Qld teams and the U16 Australian merit team. All the...

Agree with GO on a couple of fronts. Firstly , bit early to make too many predictions , especially until the full extent of recruitment is known. You never know who might show up from NZ or WA to strengthen some perceived weakness in the squads. Might even be a South American flavour to the...

The only reason GT would need to bus anyone in is because they don't have the boarding facilities that most other GPS school do. Bit ridiculous to bring up culture erosion a good 6 months before a season kicks off. Maybe have a look at who is "parked" in your own boarding houses before you bring...

How many from the Melbourne Rebels nursery do you think? .....and tell us all again why the Force are the team to go, at the very least they are developing a genuine rugby culture and footprint. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Couldn't agree more with you , NC set the bench mark with regards to coaching and getting the most out of the talent they have . Not by chance that they have double the number of premierships than the next closest. The U15a's of last year are a perfect example, were not the best team across the...

That's a relief GO , was worried the Beef & Burgundy Pies might not have been up to scratch :). Sure there are boys at the school on "deals", but they do not dump a whole lot into years 10&11. If you have a look at the last 3-4 years, I'm pretty sure the 4 or 5 Aussie Schools reps from GT...

Interested to hear your reply GO GT are neck and neck with NC every year for numbers of teams participating in the comp and are competitive across ALL age groups and divisions, not just the older few. A lot of their "top end talent" as you have described them in the past are "home grown" ...

Have no idea what the make up is at TSS, but the current year 10 is the first grade to come through with the "mixed " age groups due to Prep age intake being 30 June. Once this year's Grade 10s hit senior, it will be the norm to have at least half your First XV turning 18 in that year and not...

Couple of things to remember here folks. Firstly, they are schoolboys and they will make schoolboy errors. Don't think any First XV team playing over the weekend would have missed 48 tackles , that is a real reason to get upset! Secondly, a lot of what gets said on this site eventually gets...

The comp that TSS is hosting in the Sept holidays is the U16 Aust Championships, similar to the open schoolboys a few weeks ago. Qld announce their teams ( 1&2 ) after this weekend's games. Apparently instead of the U17 Gold Cup that has been scrapped.

A Qld 1 team before a game is even played ? Really? I'm sure all just a bit of fun for the punters seeing how well they know the talent out there, but teams being picked on reputations is becoming , if not already ,a problem in our game. How did the Qld teams go last year ? Play off for 4th/5th...
