Yep , Parata withdrew from the trials . Pasitoa has been moved from the Gold bench to the starting 10 for Navy. Not sure of the reason..... injury? Or other commitments? Injuries could still see some further changes and possible movement between the benches. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I agree, all you have mentioned are very good rugby players and unlucky to have missed out . The squads are at 27 , which is possibly already too many. To fit them in you need to leave some out. We all have slightly different views on what qualities make someone a better footballer than...

Parata is the 10 for TSS, in his third year of First XV and starting for GPS Blue . Pasitoa was the 10 for NC last year, on the bench for GPS Gold , has been mostly playing at 12 this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not saying I agree 100% with who was ranked 1&2 GO, just saying that is the way the teams have been explained. The numbers from each school do look a little more even than you would think, but the teams are selected by the First XV coaches as a whole , not one person. Who knows what happens...

Did you mean to type 8 in that comment? Think a lot of people would have Reno from TSS as first pick, suppose it depends what you want from your #8 , impact or hard on the ball ? The starting teams are the top two ranked players in each position , with the next best ranked filling the...

That’s a load of rubbish ! The “ new star prop “ is a former ATC boy who started year 11 at GT this year . There’s no First XV at ATC yet( highest year level is grade 11) and no set comp for them to play in. For those of you that don’t know ,ATC is the school formerly known as Nudgee Junior...

Sorry , not your comment, it was what Terry had to say , as in TSS will obviously fill all rep spots . TSS v GPS 1 for example , which one is bigger( assume better ) ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pretty sure that comment is a piss take , the teams have been chosen but as of this afternoon not yet announced, boys will get notified tonight / tomorrow. Two teams of even talent apparently , not 1&2, and will play as such against AIC and CSS, not the mixed teams that were predicted. Sent...

IGS beat them last year and nobody saw that coming, got to remember they are schoolboys and things don't always go to script. They do deserve to be favourites by a fair margin and will start each game as such , but that does create it's own pressure. Guess we will see.....

Agree with you there Ali B on all counts. NC are experts at not showing their full hand until the comp kicks off, both NC & GT cleared the benches in their second halves, but still credit to Churchie who I think scrap very well indeed and will trouble a lot of teams this year . It was...

Fair point though that having 2 years in opens rugby has got to be beneficial , particularly if you manage to make one of the higher divisions in your first dig at it. It's a big step up at present from 16As to First XV, the more exposure to opens rugby the better.

You will also find in the land of GPS that an U16 comp is still running , when you add the number of open teams ( often down to 5ths/6ths depending what school ) and the number of U16 teams you will end up with a number greater than five .... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You would think the majority of next year’s players would be in year 11 this year? Kids born in the first half of 2001 are in year 12 this year with very few born 2000. Next year will have a mixture of ‘01 and ‘02 born , that means half of the year group will turn 18 . Guess that makes this...

Hi Black &White, do you know if the NSW GPS comp runs an U16s as we do in the QLD GPS comp? The more traditional rugby schools up here will often have 5/6th division in Opens plus U16s down to the Es. Obviously would make a difference if you grouped all of 16s and opens (17s/18s) into one ...

Definitely correct in the mostly 18 year olds comment , think TSS had 9 of their First XV 18 ,or soon to turn 18 , last year. Next year will be the first of the Prep intake to hit year 12. This basically means approximately half of the senior year of all schools will be turning 18. You would...

Think this year level at BBC were first anointed future First XV premiers back when they were towelling every other team up by plenty as U13s by the "faithful few" in 2014. Nice early call, very astute.....

Izzy was playing 13 for Churchie at TSS against TSS, guessing the Churchie First XV coach ,who also coached him in U16 Qld Red team last year, may have had some influence in getting him to make the journey from Corinda to East Brisbane. Was used as a utility backrower/centre at the U16 champs...
