    QLD GPS Rugby 2018

It was a serious question from me , I haven’t watched a lot of TSS , but every game I have seen for the past 2 seasons , that is where he stands for defensive lineouts . Agree , you would think that someone would have challenged that short channel by now . The first pick 9 for TSS is very good...

Ever wondered why he regularly stands there for defensive lineouts ? Are they that worried about his defence? Or just trying to protect him from the traffic that would be headed his way if he stood at 10? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Absolutely, both have stepped up well . The 4 is only in year 10 , so could be a real handful in years to come.

Probably could all write a book on the “what if’s “ and “could of’s / should of’s “ of rugby. I could bang out a few pages on the last two years NC v GT games alone , but that wouldn’t change the outcome , or do much for my dignity, so will refrain. GO , think we will have to agree to disagree...

GO , Don't think many games this year are sure things, other than TSS playing anyone but NC at Ross. Think spots 3 through to 7 could still go anyway. Agree with you that TGS will be a tough test for GT at home on the range and you could be right on the money with what spot they are...

NC v TSS at Ross Oval in the last round. Still a bit of footy to play yet though and think it might come down who’s 10 manages to get through the season . Pasitoa was flawless against GT last week in both his general and place kicking , and his game management was spot on . NC had multiple...

All the hype was from a few years ago, before they realised they would be playing against more than just the odd 18 year old come First XV time . The extra year of experience in a program plus physical development makes a massive difference. Only a bit over a handful of U17s in the current...

Don't think anyone present would have been overly enthusiastic over the performance of the men in orange and both teams would have reason to feel hard done by. The sooner our officials realise that people don't come to rugby matches to watch them adjudicate the better. Doubt either team got into...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2018

Sorry C&P can't help you there, it does seem like a possible minefield trying to compare lads that have not played against one another. Not sure how the mechanics of the U18s being "considered " will work.

The tour squad of Scotland and Ireland is separate from the the squad named so far. The final 27 spots to tour are not named until after the Tri series played in October. As in , all are still trialling to make that squad to tour regardless of what team they are in. The remaining places...

Great to see GPS rugby getting some recognition in the Courier Mail this week with Jim Tucker doing a story each day on one of the schools as part of the 100 years of GPS. He is doing a season preview this Sat and will review each round the following Tues. Assuming two games will still be...

The issue is the Sunshine Coast keeping them. The likes of Carter Gordon and Tom Payne played U13 Qld Country, then U14 Brisbane City the following year having moved to Brisbane schools. Harry Vella also a former SCGS lad. I'm sure there are more.....

Sorry for my ignorance. Do you mind me asking the years that you think Qld had too many in the Aust U20s ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No but they have won the U20s comp for as long as it has been in existence. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Couldn’t agree more, rugby teams need balance. Near impossible to win a game of rugby without the ball. Most teams look good when winning easy , the true test is when it becomes a grind and the powerful ball runners need to work hard for their fair share of possession . What do they have left...

Pretty hard to believe this time last year Jordan Petia was about to pull the boots on for Qld 1 and BSHS. Great game last night for a lad first year out of school !

No worries, can't really shed any light on why so few from Qld in Combined States. Would normally expect a few more , plenty of talk up here about a couple of outside backs for AIC that many thought were unlucky to miss out on Qld selection , think most thought they would be in CS , but not...

Can't tell you a lot about them other where they are from and position they played..... Aaron Prosser is a 9 from Churchie , he came off the bench for the GPS Navy team at the Qld trials, as did Alex Davies who plays mostly 2 from Brisbane Grammar. Thomas Gore played 13 for Combined Schools...

Navy got up 19-10 over Gold . Quite an even contest, with Navy looking a bit more cohesive and think played better as a team . Plenty of willing contact from both teams . No Carter Gordon for Gold and was missed, Pasitoa from Navy had the better game of the 10s and combined very well with his...
