Reds v Rebels, Super Rugby Round 16, 1 June 2013

Rebels are throwing this game away. They need to communicate better of D.

Waratahs Crusaders Friday 31st May 5:40pm AEST

He's been given every opportunity in the world though. He just hasn't stepped up this year. IMO he's been very poor this and even had a couple of absolute mares. He needs to earn back his spot which has been his for more than 2 seasons. Wing is his best position.

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

If you consider some of the selections under Henry, I'm not sure that description would fit Bullrush. He was very much about trying to balance things. Look at the Lions tour in 2005 and he really wanted Lauaki in the loose trio. IMO he wasn't the best 8 going around but Henry saw in him a ball...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

Plenty up to date thanks. Sheehan was instrumental in closing out a couple of the tight games. Winning TO ball on the goal line and making some critical tackles have been just a few highlights.

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

Is there a requirement to explain it? We certainly do not know the ins and outs of all other ARU contracted players and what 'deals'/clauses they may have. On the whole halfback issue, I think the current super rugby player options are very much alive. Haven't mind Sheehan's work of late, but...

Wayne Smith circa 00-01 might have a different view as would Mains....

    Western Force v Highlanders R15 2013

Definitely Ben Smith. He's had a very good year despite the Landers very poor one. I think he'll be a starting AB with Corey Jane out

when he was the All Blacks backs/attack coach in a very short space of time (1.5 years) he certainly got the best out of Spencer, Mauger Umaga as a 10/12/13 combination. They were humming and that was a combination that Deans brought in from scratch

    Rugby TV Shows

I suspect the show is rehearsed prior, so scripted. Some of the questioning might be on the fly if a certain answer is given, but I'd say all guests are given the questions pre-show, just as all guests on 7:30, that Hughies show, 60 Minutes know the line of questioning.

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

It's not unusual qwerty for a big series like this. There's the PR side to things, fitouts for gear, lining up promotional activities for certain players, planning etc. Theres also the getting them in more regular contact with the Wallaby staff. As I understand it, once that Wallaby squad is...

Social Media Response to Wallabies Squad

Speaking of bias, can someone explain to me how in the hell S. Finger keeps getting Wallaby caps? It has to be some sort of bias because he certainly isn't test quality.....

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

I agree. 3 backs definitely needed. I think there's a bit too much worry about the lock/loosie cover. IMO it's all covered even if my preferred lineup isn't a goer. 9. Genia 10. Rabbit 11. Digby - if fit 12. Horrne - would have Lilo but I think he will go with Tahs combo 13. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) 14. A. Winger...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

If Timani is there then you have lock and no8 cover. Higgers covering 6 and 8 also. Hooper and Gill fit also. 4. Horwill 5. Timani 6. Mowen 7. Hooper 8. Higgers 19. Simmons/3M 20. Gill Sorted

I don't agree with that analysis of Palu. I see him leaning on rucks rather than really shifting bodies, which is what someone like Mowen and Douglas do very well IMO.

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

Don't disagree with the tactics, but I think Deans will go for Hooper first up. Hooper is pretty good at hunting the ball and plus the fact that Hooper made every post a winner last year in his debut test season. I think incumbancy still means something, even for Deans.

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

Holy cow, 38 pages in and posters are still talking about Quade. I think there are more important things to discuss, like the back row. Pocock is still IMO a massive loss. He would've learned a hell of alot from the WC and the big game occassion - which every single Lions test is. I don't...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

Agree. IMO the Reds attack has been poor over the last few rounds. Not enough bodies in motion and players far too static. As a result Cooper has been forced to stand a little deeper than he probably would've liked. Some of Genia's erratic play hasn't helped either.

Provincial bolters to play the Lions

Would be interested to know who the bolters will be for the provincial games. Obviously most will come from current and wider super rugby squads but are there any Saturday warriors that will get the call up? I think the recent Pacific Cup tourney unearthed a few players on the cusp. Also...

    REBELS v STORMERS RD 14

Apparently not that angry..... :) Only just watched the game, found myself fast forwarding a fair bit of it out of frustration and I had zero investment in the game or outcome. Some shining lights for both sides I thought. Rebels using the ball in attack was good to see even without the big...
