Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Why would he release him for the Tahs game then? I think Mowen will be the starting blindside.

Ioane, best winger? If taking a high ball and actually passing to your fullback coming into the line is no longer required on the wing, maybe.

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

And I have just a slight hunch that the name Quade Cooper would find their way into both threads.... :) Selections are subjective things and each individual player will have an individual selection criteria. What makes it messy is when coaches (the world over) have to try and justfy their...

    Blue v France Tuesday

France ran away with it in the end with a dominant forward performance. Their young midfielders looked strong as well. A few of the Blues players played well, though Moala looked dangerous. But similar to the BIL v CC game, it was very much boys among men for most of the game.

    Country v B&I Lions

I didn't see the end of the game, but was there any jersey swapping?

BOD had an excellent 6Ns and domestic season and has looked the goods in the tour games to date. He is a class player that has shown to be able to still turn a test match. I've always liked AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) as a centre/FB and he really looks refreshed as a player this year at the Tahs, but from what I've...

Force vs B&I Lions - Wed. 5 Jun

You would think Healy is gone after what looks like a very bad knee injury.

    New Zealand Rugby Team Watch

He's more the latter USA. His offload game is very good. But his best work IMO is with space when he is one on one with a defender. That's why I really like him on the wing. I think he will be the ideal bench option should they go with Dagg at FB and B. Smith and Savea on the wings.

Sorry FP, yeah I think they deserve selection no doubt, but isn't one or both of them carrying an injury?

All Black squad to play France.

Kaino was poor at the back of the scrum and that was demonstrated at provincial level, so got moved to blindside. Despite that Henry still rtook a massive gamble by playing him there at test level when there were other options - Lauaki for example. Lauaki was more adept at playing that ball at...

Is Tomane and Cummins under a cloud also? It's very hard to keep up with who's fit and who's not. I would not be surprised to see Barnes at 10, as much as it is very tough to watch, I think with other factors at play JOC (James O'Connor) may be needed on the wing. I guess one thing in Deans favour is that...

Reds v Rebels, Super Rugby Round 16, 1 June 2013

I'd be calling for a Red...... I'm really not sure that the Phipps and Cooper thing is even worth discussing.

B..b..but the outrage on here would have some believe White has been flushed down the dunny by evil Deans......

Carter was just assisting the ref by ensuring all the All Blacks were on side before play resumed :)

All Black squad to play France.

McAllister at 13, Mils on the right wing, Thomson at 7, Kaino at 8 - all under Henry and all positions none played with any semblance of regularity for thei Super or NPC side. All done to either fit in another player or because of injury.

Henry, Hansen, they're all the same to me :)

Beale isn't technically in yet though. Sure he's been invited to train but that's probably to see if his head is straight and he gets in the 40m times etc. I don't think he's a certainty at all. It's not that unusual for a coach to bring in a player in a different position when someone goes...

Reds v Rebels, Super Rugby Round 16, 1 June 2013

I did and as I posted earlier, thought JOC (James O'Connor)'s running game was good. JOC (James O'Connor)'s best position IMO is 'inside centre' also. He was pretty good on the wing as a fill in for injury, so Deans persisted. I need not ask if you watched the game, because I actually read posts....

Reds v Rebels, Super Rugby Round 16, 1 June 2013

Luke McAllister was not the answer at 10 for the All Blacks, but yet he played there vs the Lions after Carter was injured. Sure it was a dead rubber, but still there were massive question marks over his ability to run a backline and not just take the ball to the line as his natural game. JOC (James O'Connor)...

Reds v Rebels, Super Rugby Round 16, 1 June 2013

That's massive news re Higgers. OZ likely to not have their two best loose forwards in Higgers and Pocock for a Lions series. Very unfortunate. As for the game, am surprised by some of the comments about JOC (James O'Connor). Thought he played pretty well. Running game was pretty efficient and still...
