Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Look how deep Sexton is standing. Not a great platform to work from.

This is terrible for Lilo. Nice touch by Lilo to put his thumb up

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

There's a "Samsung" Wallabies booth already set up outside Crown on the Yarra Rover side. Walked past it this morning. As for Etihad, it's not the easiest place to watch rugby, but the echo of the stadium adds to the atmosphere and i found you can hear what the players are saying out on field...

Why? His form in the 6Ns was very good and he has plenty of experience playing in OZ and against the Wallaby players.

Brumbies v British & Irish Lions Tuesday 18 June 2013

The Aussie public have had little patience for Deans-ball, I doubt they could stomach much of White-ball. Sure he brings steel to the defence, but his attack plans for many years are extremely narrow

Agree. If he's in his 22 he will (and should) kick. If Digby and Izzy retreat back and Barnes catches between the 10m and halfway, I think he will swing it wide and let his team mates at it.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

I would like to think that a Lions series is still pretty special for the rugby following community and the players. I know when I've never been so nervous as an AB fan at half time of the 3rd test of the 93 Lions series and then the ABs put on one of the best defensive efforts I've ever seen...

But these aren't 19yo debutants. One has been on the cusp for a couple of years but because of injury hasn't had a gig. Lilo is what 24-25 with plenty of good rugby under his belt Folau has played in the big arena so he knows how to prepare himself mentally.

Gats probably would've had Manu T on the bench if he were 100% fit.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Ahhh yes the infamous "Australian" rugby of your fly half standing so deep and then crabbing sideways ala Giteau under Knuckles or could it be the constant recycle but make very little go forward ala Eddie Jones circa 2003-04 or I wonder if its the keep it under the jersey and tight as in what...

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

I reckon OZ will need the extra pace in the loose as the Lions will want to play a high paced game with their own plethora of loose forwards.

With Lilo at 12 I think the space will open up for JOC (James O'Connor) to take the line on a bit more. Agree with an earlier comment that Lilo has been on Deans radar for some time and only because of injury we haven't seen him. And with Lilo at 12, he is a very good place kicker so that takes away a bit of...

But why was he standing so deep behind the gain line? Yes he made multiple handling errors but what I recall is that OZ played very good and their pattern was similar to the tactics they employed on the ABs when they hit the line hard and took space away from our backs, particularly Nonu at...

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Hey GF, long time no post :) I think Digby is definitely outski for the 1st test so Cummins would be a lock. If Barnes is the favoured bench option it will be interesting to see what happens if say JOC (James O'Connor) gets injured, if Beale goes to 10 or Barnes. Alot of talk that Beale has been training at...

    Waratahs v. B&I Lions - Saturday 15 June 2013

Like a bolt of lightning cometh a new revelation from Gnostic, oh hang on.... :) Well done to the Lions and not a bad effort from the Tahs. Seemed a good atmosphere at th game also. IMO there's not much that can be taken from these non-test games for how the tests will actually pan out...

    Japan Beats Wales

Who is the "they"? I can't recall the players ever getting cocky. Sure Gatland has been known to shoot his mouth, but not really the players. All I've ever heard is how they know it will be close and tough - and they usually are. some of their commentators however are as one eyed as the rest...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

I think it makes quite a bit of sense RC. He covers the back extremely well, inserts himself into the attacking line, is an absolute handful in 1-on-1 situations and he's shown to be pretty reliable under the high ball. From a Wallaby selection POV, I don't think he as ahead of Beale or...

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

For himself :) The guy hasn't had a lot of luck injury wise. Don't mind that backline. I do think that if Barnes is fit he is someone Dean's will find a starting spot for. With all of JOC (James O'Connor), Lilo and Barnes on, who kicks goals?
