Let's see how often just giving early ball to the big kid works over the course of a season.

Yes he was. I'm not suggesting in any way he's not a strong 12. But he is a runner, not a ball player. As is Foley IMO. I just can't see them as a combination lighting up the rest of the back line. Which we will need to happen if we are to be contenders, and not merely 'competitive '.

Give Clark a go? Sign QC (Quade Cooper)? Recruit a marquis ball playing 12? Lock in Hodge now, before Rebels extend him? Resign ourselves to a first choice combination that doesn't compliment each other?

^^^^^^I hope you're wrong. Both Foley & Horne are strong performers, but I don't think they compliment each other at 10,12

    Galloping Greens

No first grade coach gives 2 fucks as to what's best for 2's in the event that 1's are eliminated. Tunnel vision.

IMO they are missing Barry hugely, they were also getting Roach on a reasonably regular basis until this year. Ayoub has also missed quite a few games this year. They just aren't competive without him.

    Shute Shield 2016

Yeah, was great game. Plenty of running rugby, plenty big hits Rats had big enough lead to win 2 games. Jim Stewart absolutely outsanding, totally turned the match when he came on. Had he started Uni would have won in a canter.

Only 91 mins? Felt longer than that! Get the feeling we'd still be going now if Uni hadn't scored:)

Wallabies vs England, Sydney, 3rd Test, 25 June @ 8:00pm

We had plenty of ball, but no ideas of what to do with it. So unless back row balance means less one out running, and less handling errors,I don't see that as the defining issue in our loss.

cmon Brian, seriously! How can you not believe we are descendants of clams?

    Shute Shield 2016

At least he'll qualify by playing 4 games prior to semi's. I just think it's outrageous that a side could literally field an entire team in a GF that have not played one game in the comp. If that's ok,then why should anyone have to qualify?

You are confused. The Wallabies are the Gold Team, came second in RWC last year. It's the reds, that I think you are referring to. They play again the week after next.

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

If Pocock could spend 6 weeks with the Marlins,I'm sure they'd get him up to speed Dave:)

Not for the first time, coaches think it's all about them. Someone needs to tell them, that the measurement of succes for them,is the number of kids in their team that go through to next level. Not the scoreboard.

Only those that play in GPS 1's comp should be eligible to trial for NSW Schools. Is that better?

I don't expect Porch to get to Rio. It does highlight the lack of pace in the squad.

I'm not quite sure what point you are trying to make Seb. If you are suggesting we might have won last week without Foley, who would have replaced him? Foley with all his limitations was still the best option IMO.

Cheika wants his 10 to be a runner, and his 12 to do the ball playing. Unfortunately we are all out of those 12's atm. Picking Quade in a Cheika team is putting a square peg in a round hole. Which is unfortunate IMO. I think he might still have something to offer in the right structure.

Wrong thread Reg. But I agree that will be a strong Brisbane City side:)
