    Reds 2016

Not saying he can't play. Just that the bit at the end did not impress me at all. Really tough guys just don't do that shit IMO.

    Reds 2016

I saw that, and just thought flat track bully. He's going to struggle at a higher level if he needs those sort of mismatches to be dominant.

    Waratahs 2016

Unfortunately, he looked like he was in the right grade on Saturday.

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

What a crock of shit. You don't give kids boundaries & structure by halving the educational load that 99% of less privileged kids have. Keeping a kid at School for an additional year, because their School places a too high a burden on them to play School sport. Is fucking ludicrous!

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

Good post, and I agree with most of it bar extending NRC. Most of the value add IMO is the better grade players combining with non test level soup players, brings the level up above Premier standard. Without the Soup players I don't think any of the sides would be better than a fully fit Woods...

He will probably tell you that year 12 were the best 5 years of his life. :)

    Force v Waratahs, R9 2016

A Force fan going the early crow? I know it's only the Tahs, but fuck me, when you have to bore other teams to death to win,I'd be humble before & grateful after. But that's me :)

    Waratahs 2016

Hmm, if that's the measure, there's quite a few fortunate players with contracts.....

    Waratahs 2016

This is my problem, they get signed early on potential, then they stay on for 10 years because the perception is they are more advanced than any SS prop. Tilse is in his10?th year as a pro. I really don't think many SS clubs would pick up the ph if he was available. Paddy Ryan as well,to a...

    Waratahs 2016

There are contracts and there are contracts. They have a few on part time contracts, which allow them to both secure and develop the players. IMO the main squad for real $$, means you should be good to go now. He is not.

    Waratahs 2016

Pay him once he is big enough to compete, if he hadn't lost his mobility. Who is going to poach a 100kg prop?

    Shute Shield 2016

It leaves Balmain where they should be. Lining up to pay $15 to watch

    The new ANZ stadium

Ok, Yeah the last row is a fair bit lower, so a little better than I thought. Still the biggest improvement is behind the posts ( where I like to sit) And the bottom 1/3 along the sideline (which is also good) The sceptic in me worries about the pitch being lowered by 3m. Surface quality seems...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

Obviously revenue is dependent on the national & super teams being competitive. But the future of the game is dependent on a healthy base. If the 10 year olds arent continuing to play through the age groups, who's going to play in 15 years? Who's going to watch in 25 years? The fat kid in the...

    Force v Waratahs, R9 2016

Michael Foley has always been kryptonite to the Tahs. Force to win ugly again..
  17. I like to watch

    The new ANZ stadium

Looking at the rough sketch I don't think the upper decks will be 30 or 40m further forward. Looks like the bottom 1/2 seats are substantially improved. Not so much the top 1/2.

    Sydney Colts - 2016

last year set the platform for this year. all 3 grades were out of finals contention well before the end of the year IIRC. Probably explains why numbers are lower this year.

    Waratahs v Brumbies - Round 8, 2016

In my day, touch footy was played before training,as numbers built up, and then as a bit of a warm up. This 'unstructured play' was actually developing ball playing skills, with ball players learning to react to defences. That is gone now, ball players instead learn choreographed plays, that they...
