thanks mate. That's good news. He's an exciting option for the Lions Series. He's custom built for the type of physicality we'll be facing.

Take this group of players, add McCabe and Taps and replace Sio with probably Kepu (or Ryan) and i think that's pretty much the squad

    Lions Tests Second Ticket Offering

I think that's right. I went on the site at 10:20am and the site said TICKET ALLOCATION EXHAUSTED. That was not true though:D

With the Midfield that Lions have chosen im not sure how they plan on getting the balls to their wingers. Actually I don't think that is part of their plan. The flyhalf/centre choices look physical but predictable. (O'Driscoll aside although he's not the threat he was 12 years ago).

Looking at the Lions squad I think we can win this series IF we get our selections right. They'll have the edge in the front row, but provided we don't suffer injuries to our top props we should be ok. In the back-row we should be able to match them and at no.7 we should have the edge. With the...

    Thoughts on Folau to rugby

I'd argue Lote was a more successful convert than SBW. Lote played test footy for a number of years and would have regularly featured in a world 15 during his prime years. Sailor probably did make it into a wallabies jersey too easily, but looking back I dont think we were overwhelmed with...

    Brumbies vs Crusaders - R12

I cant remember a time when I felt so confident of a Brumbies win over the Crusaders. I just cant see them losing, even if the Saders turn in a strong performance. ...trying my best to put the mocker on the ponies

The way the tahs' lineout went on the weekend hurt the chances of Dennis, Douglas, TPN and Timani. On the other-hand Higgers looks to have reminded selectors he's a good option at 6. In terms of the no.6 pecking order I'd say its 1)Mowen 2)Higgers 3)Denns. I'd prefer MMM at lock or on the...

George Smith will be the Wallabies danger man v the Lions because....

We've lost the world's best defensive player in Pocock. the man who had to be odds on favourite to win man of the series. It's surely fate that the stars aligned for smith, who was pushed out of the team for the young buck, to return. He's not only the one man who could fill his boots, but...

see i dont think you could play both, together. I think we need a minimum of 3 strong lineout options. I'd consider neither a strong lineout option. I consider Palu in the same boat.

No shit. I'm not suggesting he does. I'm saying we're better off playing Timani at lock (with an extra line-out option in the backrow, higgers or mowen) than Fotu at 8. Timani can make more of a physical impact than Fotu can and you don't lose anything at line-out time.

I find it surprising that there are people prepared to promote Fotu as an option, but also write off Timani. If Palu isnt available then Timani is our wrecking ball imo. He has the experience and has proven he makes an impact at test level. Fotu needs to do much more to warrant selection.

I certainly think quade is our form 10 but to be fair to oconnor its an unfair comparison to make when Cooper is playing outside Genia every week, who is clearly the worlds best half back. Dont forget that Quade looked decidedly ordinary before Genia returned

Last night simply demonstrated that the Reds benefit hugely from Cooper defending at fullback. He created a try opportunity from nothing, only for Rod Davies to butcher it. These days I probably lean towards the view point that it is a tactical switch gained to exploit Cooper's strengths...

Reds v Blues, Round 11 2013, Attack of the Attack?

The Blues had the right game plan for this game. They were fresh off the bye playing a team that had a short turn around from a draining war last week. They did their best to run the Reds ragged but the Reds still managed to do enough to get the win. They were able to pick up the intensity just...
