Quote from Folau this week:- "I'm really enjoying my rugby at the moment and I'd like to stay long term and give it a good crack so we'll see how we go," Folau said after Saturday’s 11-try thumping of the Super Rugby newcomers. This confirms my suspicion that Folau will sign with the ARU...

Are you saying that you'd play him at 15? Or 10 for that matter? The reason he played those positions in 2012 was because our injury count was ridiculously high. I would have Beale/O'Connor/Mogg all ahead of him at 15 and Cooper/O'Connor/Beale all ahead of him at 10.

Id much prefer Beale on the bench to Barnes.

Id have McCabe in the squad, because we need at least one hard-nosed, straight running utility back. Timani I dont have a problem with because he was immense in some of the 2012 tests. He is really just included in the squad in the enforcer role and he does it quite well Re Phipps, do we...

Folau has some stern tests coming up over the next few rounds. currently you'd have to say he'll be starting the first lions test on the wing. Hard to leave him out of the team, even if it means moving O'Connor to 10 or 12

How could barnes possibly get selected. he's played 0 rugby this season, he's unlikely to play much before the series (given the form of the tahs backline), he's at best 3rd choice at fullback, fourth choice inside centre, and fourth or fifth choice flyhalf

Surely the ARU has enough money available next year to retain Folau with Ioane/Barnes/Mitchell/Timani heading overseas.

I hope Folau is reading these articles and feeling compelled to sign up for next year. DO IT!!!

    Force vs Reds - S15 Round 12 - 4 May 2013

This should be a close contest. The Force have a very good record over the Reds as of late and will fancy their chances. Reds by 1 (please)

At this stage I'm not totally opposed to the idea of O'Connor playing at 10, as long as: a) Lilo is named at 12 and the two players alternate regularly. This allows O'Connor to move out to inside centre with a bit more space and the ability to switch our 10/12 will make life difficult for the...

Remember that time the best front row we could put out for a test series was A Rookie Slipper/Fainga'a/Daley. That was embarrassing

Thr depth in Australia's prop stocks seems to get a bit better every year. I remember for a while there it was dunning and fuse and then daylight ...o_O Now we have plenty of decent props and one, maybe two, genuinely strong scrummaging props. Still the Lions is a big ask. On the bright side...

    New Zealand Rugby Team Watch

Anyone who knows anything about Super rugby knows NZ teams are notoriously slow starters. They certainly arent travelling that well at the moment but i still expect them to have two strong contenders come finals time. Aus might still only have one team in the finals. early days. Certainly on...

In terms of LHP I think Alexander and Robbo are ahead of Cowan, maybe Slipper too (although I see Slipper as a better TH option. Not sure we need a third specialist LHP. but i agree he has been playing very well and I wouldnt be upset if he was included in the squad

    Lions Tests Second Ticket Offering

Not sure if there's a bad seat in the house at Suncorp. Probably my favourite stadium to watch footy. Although I did see a game a few years back between the Boks and Wallabies and I was on the top level behind the try line. Still got a good view of the action but was probably a bit too far away...

Whilst the form of Sio and Ryan should put them ahead of Kepu in the pecking order, I suspect Kepu will get chosen ahead of both and probably for good reason. Kepu has significant runs on the board. He's played at a world cup and held his own against some pretty good front rows (at both TH and...

I think Fainga'a is out of the picture at this stage. His defence this season has been solid as always but he really offers nothing in attack. He plays in a very strong Reds backline and I cant remember his last line-break or tackle bust (and given that I watch most Reds games twice these days, I...
