    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Would we really want that though? I'd much rather they made the jump to the Pro14 en masse rather than seeing them put out sub par squads in Super Rugby. Everyone would be better served by going our separate ways in terms of Super Rugby with us at a minimum going to a 10 team structure involving us, NZ and the Jags.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I suspect that we'll continue to see them compete in the RC as why wouldn't they want the best of both worlds? The issue is Super Rugby. Where talking about a 7 week period at the very start of the competition. I think it would make their continued participation untenable

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Everyone would play everyone. It's just teams would play three of them twice in a season. Regearding the Japanese teams that would depend on recruiting which you'd imagine going from their recent efforts would continue to draw in talent internationally. Either that or you don't engage with Japan...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

It would depend a lot on whether the proposed Pro League gets up and running. But ideally we'd see 5 teams from Aus, NZ and Japan involved. Plus the a PI squad. So 16 teams. Split them into 4 pools randomly drawn season on season. In which they'll play home and away for 6 game and then one game...

Technically that doesn't rule them out of playing in the RC. In fact it would make expanding it from 4 to 6 teams more likely in my opinion. But it would effectively kill off their competitiveness even further in Super Rugby. If this is going to happen then NZ needs to realsie that the way forward is...

    Global Rapid Rugby

Not one. Two. He's one of the primary backers of the Loyals Rugby LLC group that first acquired the rights to the LA licence and just last week the Austin Licence. They are now known as the Austin Gilgronis. Which apparently will be a 'Texas sized cocktail' to be released during their first...

Ask Michael. He actually uses the platform.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I think with exception of the 6Ns all of the rights to those competitions wouldn't come at too high of a price. And even then with the 6Ns they wouldn't be restrictively expensive.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I'm not sure if this has been asked but why would Optus be interested in Rugby? There has to be a reason beyond trying to entice the 50-55k regular viewers over to their platform. Sure, sticking one up Telstra might be a motivator but I would like to assume they'd have conducted a level of due...

BT's platform is quire similar to that of Optus Sports. Though more extensive in terms of content.

The games featuring our teams playing in more favourable timezones averaged 52.3k for the weekend. So, yeah. I think if whoever wrote the piece being cited used the 33k as their evidence for the decline in interest then they aren't telling the whole story.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Could be argued they achieved the goal of driving awareness and interest in the platform. Which is what the deal with SBS would have been all about from their perspective. It would, I imagine be very similar for Rugby. But I suspect it would require a longer time frame to witness a level of...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

It'll actually be interesting to see how Telstra fares in this. They've tied themeselves to the Kayo platform which while currently more diverse (though features a lot of content that's more filler than anything else) is about $10/month more expensive. If Optus start expanding their offering it...

It's up to over 825k now apparently. At present. Yes. Optus Sport is just a Soccer broadcaster. But that doesn't mean they'll only ever be that. We don't know what they have planned down the line and as a telco they much like their customer base also have a significantly greater commercial...

That's assuming there's some kind of FTA component. Which is far from guaranteed but would be most welcome.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

Just found out who this Adam Gilchrist is. He's one of the guy behind F45 gyms. The same guy that was looking to invest in a Western Sydney franchise in GRR.
