2019 TV ratings and crowd numbers

The only game I have been able to find so far is the Bris/Victory match which drew 40k.

There's been some mention of Taiwan being a possible location in the future. I wonder if that could be where the Dragons might pop up in the future.

Apparently the AP Dragons and the Singapore RU have parted ways

    Where to for Super Rugby?

If they get this new league up and running then there's no reason for the Sunwolves to play in Super Rugby. What could happen is admit them into the RC. Run it over just the four games playing each other once. The Japanese national team squad could play their season assuming the proposed league is in...

I read it as his plan is to effectively recruit from SANZAAR nations. Though in a perfect world we'd have some level of integration. If those potential revenues ever eventuate we could see an exodus of sorts to the league of talent.

Or. The RC to kick the season off. Super Rugby. July Tests. And then a revamped NRC featuring the the 4 Super Rugby franchises alongside the Force and Fiji at a minimum. Potentially Tongan and Samoan squads. Featuring all of our best players.

Yeah. There's the possibility of moving the RC to the same window as the 6Ns and then play Super Rugby considering its reverting back to the 14 team single round robin format. Could have players play in the Japanese league. Play the RC and then Super Rugby. Or something akin to that.

Issue is, there are plans in the works for a revamped Top League from 2021 and beyond which will be fully professional running from Sept - Feb. So any involvement at that level is unlikely unless we take drastic steps in regards to our seasons.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

No. These sort of rumours has been making the rounds for several years now. The most recent being the push out of Russia to launch a Kontinental Rugby League in a similar vein to the KHL. I think the region needs some kind of higher level of competition but how to achieve that is the big...

Apparently the Continental Shield (which is the 3rd tier Euro club competition) has been discontinued with Rugby Europe looking to replace it with a European franchise based league.

Roughly the same window. And we're apparently going to see something more official in November. https://sudamerica.rugby/espanol/la-super-liga-americana-de-rugby-tiene-fecha-de-presentacion-3?nid=242

So a 10 game season featuring 6 teams confirmed by the new GRR CEO.

5 home games which suggests at least as many away games meaning at least 6 teams I reckon.

    Proposed Nations Championship

I think a combination of a cap limit and stand down period would be the best option. Could even determine the stand down based on caps. Under 10 caps = 12 months. 10 to 20 = 18 months and 20-30 would be 24 months. If you have more than 30 then you're permanently locked in to the nation you've...

    Yep. Signed with the Sabrecats.

    Proposed Nations Championship

I like the addition of the caps but I tend to think 10 caps would be a little too restrictive. I'd say at least 20-25 caps considering the number of tests T1 nations play in a single year. Which could effectively do away with their eligibility.

    Proposed Nations Championship

I'm happy for it to be an option with a stand down period. Something between 18-24 months would fit the bill.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

Digby Ioane has signed for the Glendale Raptors in MLR. Which is interesting. And San Diego are hinting at a big signing with some speculating it could be Ma'a Nonu.
