Selections can be bloody fickle at times. I though Wright was very good last year and pretty good when he played in Super Rugby this year. But one bad test and he appears to have fallen way down the pecking order. But then Daugunu had a similiar fall from grace last year but got himself back...

Although I did really enjoy watching White throw his mouth gaurd into the ground when Le Roux was sent. Embarassing response from a grown man, but funny none the less.

I disagree. And he came off at half time because of injury. McDermott featured prominently in the 3-2-1 voting for each game of the Bledisloe. What I find odd about this criticism is that you continually bemoans our lack of players who play well against the best and then, even when someone...

Sure - McDermott has plenty of room for growth. But that’s not the deciding issue. He is already, IMO, as good at 9 as White. White is better at some things, but worse at others. But I think the last few weeks have shown McDermott is already at least as good (I would suggest better) then White...

South Africa targeted us with the highball yesterday. Banks wasn’t necessarily great in handling it, but O’Connor would be a further step down IMO. I think Kellaway at 15 with Petaia at 14 and O’Connor on the bench could be an option. But these guys did just beat South Africa and they are...

It’ll be interesting to see the stats - but I thought Cooper was very good when he had to tackle too. Went low, used his shoulder.

To be fair - some of us have thought that for years :)

Haha - Return of the King. Well done QC (Quade Cooper). I must admit, even as someone who professed to be a Cooper fan I had trouble being confident in his selection. But well done.

He’s warming into the game nicely. A couple of very good involvements in the last 10. Hopefully kicks on in the second half.

Could’ve - but I don’t see how that makes a difference anyway. Philip didn’t actively take him to ground (that I could see). Anyhow - ref was right there and obviously thought otherwise.

I’m confused. Why was that a penalty against Philip? He can’t take the player down, but neither is he obliged to hold him up. It looked to me the South African player just collapsed under pressure.

That’s, of course, the problem with a program based on poaching other teams talent. It’s hard to get a home town ref.

Bledisloe III at Perth, 5/09/21 - 4pm AEST

I think that was 2013. 8 years ago. I like both players, and I agree that was probably the last time I thought our 10-12 combo looked like it could be genuinely world class, but gee it’s a fair stretch to keep the faith of a successful re-union & yrs later.

Larkham certainly had great vision and instincts when he played. Almost at the same level as Qld Origin playing great and short term coach Wally Lewis.

    Brumbies 2022

I’m not sure if Larkham would be a good choice as head coach, but given that Cheika was pretty open about the fact that he punted then because he directly opposed Cheika’s views on how the attack should run, the fact that the attack was shit probably shouldn’t be considered clear evidence that...

    Wallabies 2021

Fair point - but Rodda has been with the squad already for a period and, apparently, isn’t up to speed yet. I agree though that adding some muscle (and breakdown accuracy) to his workrate would be a great outcome. But it doesn’t seem practical to me to bring Arnold & Skelton back and get them...

    Wallabies 2021

I don’t mind them bring either back, but three observations - - we have bought a number of players back from Europe who were supposedly much better players over there then when they were here. I don’t think they’ve conclusively matched the build up. I don’t think, for example, either White or...
