TRC Round 2: Australia vs Argentina @ Brisbane - Saturday 27 July 2019

This is a big negative for me with CLL's game. He needs to get his hands on the ball more and get himself into position on attack. Too often he is caught up in rucks - I like his enthusiasm to do the gritty stuff but sometimes a playmaker needs to get hold back and let the guy next to him hit...

TRC Round 2: Australia vs Argentina @ Brisbane - Saturday 27 July 2019

Great post TSR, I agree with all - apart from Beale. I think he's being a bit over-stated. He is superb from broken play and injecting himself into a playmaker position - which I agree is something lacking in the squad But.... He still has a glaring weakness under the high ball, and this will...

TRC Round 2: Australia vs Argentina @ Brisbane - Saturday 27 July 2019

Surprised Banks wasn't tried at wing. Could easily go Beale 15, Banks wing. (although personally I'd prefer Banks 15, Beale Bench, a new winger brought in)

He is offloading like a man possessed tho, the 13 just needs to be in position to receive one.

TRC Round 2: Australia vs Argentina @ Brisbane - Saturday 27 July 2019

I think it's answered some too and given some confidence in some positions: Props looking good in Sio/Slipper, now Tupou Hookers solid enough in Fainga and Latu Arnold a lock in Naisarini a lock in now - this is a question answered Kerevi a lock in Genia/White both good Beale/Banks - both solid...

TRC Round 2: Australia vs Argentina @ Brisbane - Saturday 27 July 2019

Maybe its the curse of the 13 jersey, players have been pretty uneventful in that position recently. For me, JOC (James O'Connor) should be tried at 15 or 12. But Kerevi is locked down at 12, and both Beale and Banks solid options at 15.

Maybe time to give Valetini and/or Dempsey some more game time.

Beauty of try scored though, gotta love a back-line set-play, great pass from Lilo.

TRC Round 2: Australia vs Argentina @ Brisbane - Saturday 27 July 2019

Surely thats the 9's sorted for world cup. Unlucky to Powell but both Genia and White up to the standards we want. Genia kicked beautifully tonight - unfortunately this has not always been consistent, hope it continues as he offers a lot in attack too. Not sure about Beale at 15 though. Still...

TRC Round 2: Australia vs Argentina @ Brisbane - Saturday 27 July 2019

To be fair, Argentina were pretty poor in attack - they had one strategy, spread it wide. Since we weren't committing to the rucks defence was a lot easier. Although our scramble defence on broken play is be congratulated.

TRC Round 2: Australia vs Argentina @ Brisbane - Saturday 27 July 2019

Agreed. Good to see a solid goal kicker. He had a shocker of a first 10mins tho. His work in defence and off the ball is pretty amazing, he works so hard. But on attack his execution often off. Although I think he got better as the game went on - would have loved to see another 10mins.

TRC Round 2: Australia vs Argentina @ Brisbane - Saturday 27 July 2019

    1. Great win... the guys should be congratulated, playing with more passion! 2. Kerevi is the attacking spark we needed now that Folau is gone - he is our best weapon. 3. Still not overly impressed with any of our 10's - I'd say Lilo shades Foley at this stage but would like to see more 4...

TRC Round 2: Australia vs Argentina @ Brisbane - Saturday 27 July 2019

Actually Beale made a pretty big difference ;) But no, I agree with you. Game-plan, structures, and general attitude, a lack of cattle in key areas a bigger problem.

TRC Round 2: Australia vs Argentina @ Brisbane - Saturday 27 July 2019

If we're experimenting, then I think Beale as a roaming winger would be better then either DHP or Hodge. I think banks was solid enough to keep a spot - I'd prefer to keep him at fullback then wing. It won't happen but it's an idea ;)

Where is AAA and Sio? We have the slowest wingers in world rugby.

Despite my dislike to seeing AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) in the squad, he's still probably a better option then Kerevi at 13 - I never liked him at 13 he has less impact on attack and even worse in defence. Even with Kerevi's superb season this year his defence is still a worry at 12, let alone 13.

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

JOC (James O'Connor) 12 with Kerevi at 13 is a possibility. (although I hate Kerevi at 13 he loses so much impact) Although I agree To'omua and Hodge are lucky to even be in the squad, but then again same probably goes for JOC (James O'Connor). The fair and likely outcome will no doubt be Kerevi and Kuridrani in the centres...

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Great point. Larkham at 10 didn't have great distance in his clearance kicks, Huxley and Gerrard were used more frequently in the pocket at the Brumbies for years. I know the game is a bit quicker now but surely it's an easy work-around to have the best kicker stand in the pocket. Crazy to think...

Maybe 'solid' was a bad choice... 'another' kicking option.
