Wallabies v Ireland, Sun 20th Nov 7am AEDT

Not just two penalties - a try overturned and a successful penalty kick. 8 points.

Wallabies v Ireland, Sun 20th Nov 7am AEDT

OK half time against the world #1 and we are down by 3. That is a hell of lot better than I was thinking. We are doing much better in the rucks, though the Irish are sublime. The whole neck roll thing certainly is an enhanced risk with the way the ruck was being given flexibility at the start...

Then surely it's because of injury to our starting hooker?

    What happens at hooker now?

Did Petaia actually run out of his shoes?

We rolled it on the ground then they returned the favour. Ref ignored both

Now handling the ball on the ground. 3 to Ireland. That’s an 8 point discipline difference in 10 mins. Porecki both times?

That depends just a touch if your metric is pissing off referees or things like passing, running, kicking. For me with the WB discipline right now, if there is a high correlation in that first metric, the rest become redundant.

If you are bothered by a rant this morning take heart that everything gets positive if you jump past this bit - <rant ends> <commence rant> IMO Rennie made a massive error in not treating Italy with respect last week. But that doesn't change how things are going with the Wallabies...

Wallabies v Ireland, Sun 20th Nov 7am AEDT

I'm reasonably sure that one of those three throws was to the jumper's outside shoulder.

Wallabies v Ireland, Sun 20th Nov 7am AEDT

There certainly have been issues in organisation at the line out, but when a throw goes silly long, or to the outside shoulder, or to the chest, there is nothing to discuss but the throw. Once Porecki is off the field this is the starting problem. Get past that and you may well be right with...

Derp found someone worth talking to.

That is a fundamentally constricted view of “balance”. Before hitting it up we need to have the ball. For balance start with the set piece. Anything more in the tight 5 is a bonus.

Barring your thoughts on Wright, I agree completely. The flop here was coaching not players.

    Wallabies 2023

Rennie hit Nadir against Italy, or so we hope. He is imo rightly pilloried but the fans who largely hold him and the main culpable party in a loss that should not have happened and should not have been permitted. It was coaching way more than the player responsibility, I think. It was also...

Wallabies v Italy, Florence, Sun 13th Nov 12am AEDT

Haven't read the thread, just caught up with the game. The worst performance in the Rennie era, so bad that Rennie is the primary and secondary fault. Third - daylight. I hear some support for Skelton. Hell as a game experience builder maybe. I liked mostly (without the caveat, no-one)...

If we lose to Italy by a tight margin, it drops us back to #8. What a fabulous ranking to face Ireland with. Irrelevant? Sure.

Wallabies v Italy, Florence, Sun 13th Nov 12am AEDT

I much prefer Skelton operating at 2, unexpectedly targeting a throw without run up and rudimentary jump - then the tricky dicky run up and down, swap around, go back where you started, change, throw to (often) confusion. BUT, to control the maul you want to be able to set up at the back of the...
