Time to throw out the bath water

The forwards who obviously don't cut it at test level at the moment include Mowen (a fairly good captain, but zero impact as a player in tests), Alexander, Slipper, and sadly big Kev. That doesn't mean they can't cut it. Slipper has time on his side as a prop. Simmons has stepped up slightly...

Italy v Australia, Sunday Nov 10 2013, Stadio Olimpico

On current form that team is stronger than our first XV. Although on last weekend's form, a G&GR wives and girlfriends team is probably stronger.

Wallabies by 25. Normal inconsistency returned.

Foley could easily find his own place. If the current team isn't good enough then we mustn't hesitate to make replacements.

Australia Vs. England, Twickenham, 2nd November 2013

Like Link said, the fans aren't in a position to know much about this. We only see the laptop stealing, boxing Quade. The team gets to see change long before we do on the television screens. Apparently the team is on board. That's good enough for me.

Australia Vs. England, Twickenham, 2nd November 2013

How far forward runners start behind the gain line is a reflection of how deep the flyhalf stands, not the "form" or otherwise of the ball carriers.

Yes but that's true of every South African loss.

TPN weak? I think the opposite. But he's reckless.

Australia Vs. England, Twickenham, 2nd November 2013

I think the one thing you always get with TPN is motivation. Sometimes more than his body can handle.

Good points. If Pocock can stay fit he's a good captain. Given his work in the community, potentially a very popular one as well. Horwill and Genia are both just too declarative with refs.

Arguably a successful pack is one where all the deficiencies are covered.

    JOC (James O'Connor) Gooonne

What's probably going to happen is that the ARU and Link will manage the situation well, and a lot of sad, middle-aged Internet posters will be left chewing their beards.

All Blacks v Wallabies, Dunedin, 19th October 2013

The Honey Badger is deeply ordinary. Speight is obviously good. Betham is potentially good. JOC (James O'Connor) in form is a world class player.

Sadly, maybe not quite enough pace for sevens any more. Age and hammies wait for no man.

All Blacks v Wallabies, Dunedin, 19th October 2013

Their recent record in so-called dead rubbers is much worse than their overall record, which suggests something is different in those games. The obvious answer is that they take their foot off the gas.
  17. Groucho

All Blacks v Wallabies, Dunedin, 19th October 2013

Excellent. Betham and Folau both have the ability to break any defence. Of course Betham needs to catch it first.

The difference is that Hanson's your national team coach. If the measure of what officials can say in press conferences is to be based on what happens on Internet forums then we're in for some spectacular goats, I mean gaffes.

    That's perverted. Goats - yeuch!

All Blacks v Wallabies, Dunedin, 19th October 2013

The ABs would be a very good chance of beating us now (maybe any team) with their entire first team out, because their 2nd XV are all of high international standard, and because they're so well organised.
