White should've gone for that high ball. Simmons made a meal of it in the end.

Douglas just made a very good tackle showed excellent strength and was a big reason why oz won that last penalty. Then straight away replaced????

All Blacks v Springboks - Eden Park, Sept 14th 2013

Hore will be 35 tomorrow, he started his test career back in 2002. One of my favourite AB performers over the last 3 years. He plays a very physical game and is a menace at the breakdown so he's probably thought this is all his body can take and fair enough I'd say.

All Blacks v Springboks - Eden Park, Sept 14th 2013

I would hardly put Hore in the 'given up' category. I can't see a single gamble in this test lineup. If he went for Messam on the openside to keep Luatua in the starting lineup, that would've been a gamble. It's our best available pack. Coles form is well ahead of Mealamu's. first choice...

Playing props out of position and a lock packing on the wrong side, no sureeely not 'our' Link. I swear that was only Deans who did that stuff....

With Thrush the only lock cover in the current AB squad, you would expect that barring injury the AB coaches will be wanting Whitelock and Retallick to play 80 minutes. Read will play 80 also. The concern IMO is over Messam's game fitness - first test back, and Cane's ability to handle 80...

Paarl surely you're not suggesting that Battleship, Ysterbeth, Klein Flippie and Duanne do things outside the laws? Not these fine upstanding (rugby) law abiding players. Or is it that they get away with stuff also, on and away from the ball.. :)

Which the first one was dubious with the oz LH going to ground first.....

All Blacks v Springboks - Eden Park, Sept 14th 2013

Hopefully O. Franks will be back. His core strength appears to be better than Charlie's when the heat is n at scrum time. Crockett still has issues on the engage but his second shove from LH was very good I thought putting pressure on Figallo and the replacement. Dane Coles did seem to struggle...

Australia vs South Africa - Brisbane 7th Sept 2013

Agree Nick. The other thing is the Wallabies under Link have wanted to spread the ball side to side trying to exploit mismatches and holes in the defence, however as a Saders fan I know this is high risk stuff if you're aren't willing to hit rucks and clean players out as well.

All Blacks v Springboks - Eden Park, Sept 14th 2013

If we lose I certainly won't be handling well. I believe the AB's should win on home soil. We have been building throughout the campaign so far for this test match. We've had some set backs with injuries - Romano, Nonu, McCaw, O. Franks, Carter, Cruden, Barrett, Messam, Coles - but we've also...

Simmons and Fardy would be a step backwards in my view if you are trying to raise the physicality stakes. The best combination from OZ this year has been Horwill and Douglas. Given Horwill's injury (and might I add form slump since Lions I) I think a Douglas and Fardy/Timani starting...

Australia vs South Africa - Brisbane 7th Sept 2013

There is no "technicality" with Cooper though. He chose to make himself eligible to play for QLD. He could've chosen another path but he didn't and I don't think that really is the issue. I think the thing I got out of Noddy's comments is the lack of competition on spots. Who is putting...

I agree with Gnostic's submission that skills are surely lacking and the errors in crucial times was evidence of that. its been mentioned previously but fitness is an issue also. But I think one of the real issues is lack of combinations. Do the back row even know each others names? Brand new...

The backs can still have a massive influence in how the forwards play though. If the backs are getting line breaks the forwards can lift and put in that extra effort to give them the support. Have seen it happen at all levels when the forwards are below parity with their opposites.

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) an absolute shocker tonight.

Genia is so out of form. Just that last effort of him just jogging to over a man that was already covered by the Badger and left the inside man open for the try. Can that please stop showing the Bok coaches box

Australia vs South Africa - Brisbane 7th Sept 2013

Far too side to side and little structure in going forward. OZ really struggling to break the line. Liked the last kick in behind by Genia, perhaps need to try that a little more given the Bok defensive line
