    Sling tackle on Quade

Australia vs South Africa - Brisbane 7th Sept 2013

That doesn't make it an any less poor call. Rubbish decision.

Australia vs South Africa - Brisbane 7th Sept 2013

    This is terrible all round.

Australia vs South Africa - Brisbane 7th Sept 2013

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) needs to be put on the wing. His blinkered ball running is appalling tonight. Two runs in the 2nd half where he could've passed or offloaded.

    All Blacks vs Pumas - TRC round 3 - Sept 07 2013 - Hamilton

5-6 weeks. The biggest test of Cane's career next week.

    2013 – ITM CUP - NZ's 3rd Tier Competition

I didn't notice that Dan. But I must say that i thought Pollock officiated really well. The scrubs were still a bit of an issue, but he got those cards right and the breakdowns as well

    2013 – ITM CUP - NZ's 3rd Tier Competition

Another OZ connected player playing for Northland is Robbie Abel, who was in the Brumbies setup. Played last week but not today. He has plenty of whanau connections with the Northland region and Northland rugby

    Beale to Tahs, where?

I wouldn't put Beale on the wing now. He has developed into a decent playmaking type player that wants the ball in his hands more often than not. Ideally it's 10 or 15 where his skills can be exploited, but with Foley staying I wouldn't mind seeing Beale at 12 where he could be used as a 2nd...

The NZ/SA Rivalry, how fierce is it?

My dad always said the 1956 series was the hardest rugby he ever saw. The battle of the front five in particular the front rows was immense. Having seen the footage and a doco on it, the scrum exchanges and the physical exchanges particularly after the Christchurch test in my mind adds to this...

The NZ/SA Rivalry, how fierce is it?

The only trolling in the thread was by Bullrush and his Marshall comment which is a load of rubbish..... :)

The NZ/SA Rivalry, how fierce is it?

Craig Dowd was doing the Channel 10 coverage here in OZ of the first two bledisloes, with Matt Burke and the voice of rugby. Dowd wasn't too bad. On the dive, here's some highlights and commentary from that infamous test match. Unfortunately the lineout incident overshadowed a fantastic Stu...

The NZ/SA Rivalry, how fierce is it?

Like Chiefton I grew up hearing stories of AB v Bok matches and the tours. Whineray, the Meads brothers, Lochore, Laidlaw, Rangi etc. And the way my dad and uncles would talk about never being able to win a series against the 'big' Boks in the Republic instilled in me a win at all costs attitude...

    Refereeing decisions

I've had this discussion on the forum before with kiap about 3 years. He provided some research into the matter that was based on super rugby officiating.

New Zealand vs Australia - Bledisloe 2, 24th August 2013

In 2002 and 03 England were on fire beating all comers. Beat the ABs and OZ in both 2002 and 2003 (prior to the WC). Beat the Boks in 02 as well. Won a grand Slam 03 also. They had the best form going into the WC IMO but were never clear cut favourites because of the Aussie home soil factor.

New Zealand vs Australia - Bledisloe 2, 24th August 2013

Indeed mate. The human element brings subjectivity no matter how 'objective' they attempt to be. And I don't think bias or gold watches have anything to do with it either. It's just that a ref will consider a situation based on his knowledge, training and past experience - that's all very...

New Zealand vs Australia - Bledisloe 2, 24th August 2013

Do you actually read what other posters write? Serious question because I've read your last 5 posts and they either have very little relevance or coherence. Let me spell it out for you, I was in the crowd, which means I wasn't playing. Eddie Jones said well done because I got the call right...

Where did we go wrong? Wallaby Recovery thread.

Are you taking the mick Rassie. If you look at the real time footage of that incident Luatua is clearly in pain after he makes the tackle. Even after the ABs have celebrated the try and are running back to half way there is an image of Luatua in the background still on the ground being attended...

New Zealand vs Australia - Bledisloe 2, 24th August 2013

I can't comment on your first sentance IS, as I believe that is more a perception thing than anything else. I'm not an avid reader of stats or don't religiously review each whistle (and non-whistle) and don't compile a list of the 'controversial' calls. I admit that in the early 2000s I thought...
