I agree on Simone, really nice well-rounded game for a 12, strong running with speed and a decent passing game.

The worrying thing for me too about the guys leaving Arnold, Kerevi, and Latu at their peaks.... it's not so much them leaving but the fact they are also signing long-term deals for 3 years. 1 year deals seems to be a thing of the past.

The big calls in Beale and Petaia worked fine. But Genia over White a mistake. As well as Lilo over To'omua.

Dempsey will come good next year if he stays fit. I feel he was a couple games away from getting back to form, timing was just a little off. Unfortunately we didn't have 2-3 game to get him back there. Samu next year will be a good inclusion in the team too, either at 6 or coming off the...

I really don't understand why we don't utilise our halfback to clear from the base of the ruck. Half the other international team add 2 players to the back of the ruck, roll the ball back giving the halfback extra space. A simple strategy. White has a big boot, and Genia has a good boot too...

I disagree, it's so slow and telegraphed he'll get charged down more times then Foley

RWC 2019 1/4 Final England vs Australia

Why don't we do what every other team does, add a couple players to the back of the ruck, roll the ball back for the halfback to clear it. White has a big boot too, and Genia not too bad either that would have been very effective.

Was a first I think. Lilo was pretty average as a restart kicker so probably made sense. Kicking right down the middle an interesting strategy too....

The problem if you don't start To'omua is your throwing a rookie into test rugby, in a natural leadership position. Ideally you want to ease him. So To'omua looks to start the season as he's the last man standing. It's a big ask to chuck a rookie with only one season of super xv straight into...

This has always completely baffled me, as a nation were AFL is one of the national sports and our players are terrible kickers.

I'd like to Jamie Joseph or Jake White as next coach Not sure what other options are out there? Laurie Fisher as forwards coach too please. And find a god damn decent attacking coach. And a bloody kicking coach.

Finding a decent 10 going to be the biggest problem for us. ... well after finding a new coach.

RWC 2019 1/4 Final England vs Australia

Agree. The natural skill-set of Australian will naturally lead to running rugby anyway - there is no need to drill that mentality into the team and try and run the ball from our own 22. Simply play to the strengths of our players, and not be afraid to kick when you have to kick. Red 2011...

RWC 2019 1/4 Final England vs Australia

Continuly playing players out of position add to this too. For example Beale. He should have stayed at 15 and worked on his skill (high ball, kicking) - instead he is shifted to 12 where he was a defensive liability. Or Folau - anywhere else in the world they play him on the wing and he become...

RWC 2019 1/4 Final England vs Australia

I think the focus on these relatively small areas of the game like the selection of Pooper, or Beale V DHP or in your words 'the silver bullet' is because we really aren't that far away from being a quality side. I disagree that it's collectively a much more complex issue with poor grassroots...

RWC 2019 1/4 Final England vs Australia

True - clearly part of the game-plan for some stupid reason this game. All of Beale, Lilo and Genia doing stupid chip kicks in our 22 - none worked.

RWC 2019 1/4 Final England vs Australia

Nah still lost it by trying to go 20 phases + and scoring tries. No team in the world can do that. a knock-on, penalty or poor pass will eventually happen. No idea why the strategy to run it or chip kick it out of our 22 is a good idea. One key area we havn't learned yet is exiting our 22...

Skills too...was fine in the first half. Fell apart when we tried playing catch-up rugby. Although through-out the year and last 4 years ... skills and poor passing a worry.

I actually thought the french ref had a good game.

Beale did well tonight besides the stupid chip kick - couldn't see DHP, Banks, or Maddocks doing any better in the same situations. (and I'm not Beale fan - give me DHP or Banks any day). Coleman shouldn't have started - he hasn't been playing well besides one good hit here and there. Rodda is...
