True. Do we have any other up and coming indigenous players?

I'd suggest that would be Cooper - based on social media he has over 5 times more followers. Kurtley likely third though. Edit: Pocock would be up there too.

I could understand that argument for Folau or Quade, but the players you mentioned have pretty mediocre marketability.

I hope Beale is fazed out. He's had plenty of chances and still the same weaknesses. I hope the new coach builds his team around players with solid basic skills and then works up from there. It seems we do things backwards. Pick players on one outstanding attribute and then try (and often...

I don't think it necessarily has to be RWC focused, but a medium to long-term approach is necessary. If he's not outstanding and the next best player's form is only slightly behind but has more potential to grow over the season then your better off taking a risk and building his skills rather...

He's already 32. Doubt he will make it the next RWC. At his age his form will have to be superb to warrant selection (it has only been solid without being outstanding), otherwise your better off developing younger players.

You know relaxing the rules might actually lead to less players heading oversea's. I can see clubs looking at Australian players less if they think they are going to be released for international games half way through the season all the time.

I feel we are thin at 12 too. Unless JOC (James O'Connor) plays there and performs well. Who else is there but rookies?

    And Pete Samu at 7

He could balance the back-row out nicely if he was at 6 and Naisa at 8. But I still just fear he just isn't strong enough into contact for test rugby.

I like the structure of having head coach locked in for 3 years + , obviously with performances measures where they can be let go if their win % isn't up to scratch. Players will need to buy into the coaches plan and philosophies as they know he there for the long-term. In terms of super xv...

Based on Raylenes comments this is exactly what RA are doing, and was the main reason they decided to keep Chieka in place last year until the RWC, so they didn't have to rush that process.

Very true on the super xv teams failing to get results. Although I think the coaches next are mostly good: Dan McKellar - doing well, hopefully builds on another good year Thorne with a few years under his built would expect to start seeing results now. Wessels - I do like him as coach, he is...

Surely McKellar is a few years away from being considered. For me Thorne has shown nothing yet to even be considered - besides being a good player.

Yes Larkham took things to another level in terms of one-dimensional play. Way worse then J.White. And then he got the wallabies 'attack' coach gig... baffling really.

    Wallabies 2020

I think this is such a mis-conception of Jake White. There were some absolutely amazing performances of running rugby at his time at the Brumbies - the SA tour an example. The backline never looked so good - and McCabe was at 12, so it was performing better and we didn't even have the preferred...

    Wallabies 2020

Now that would be the worst appointment. His tenure as head as the Brumbies was very disappointing. Hard to judge him as 'attack' coach at the wallabies since he came out as disagreeing with Cheika on the wobs attack philosophy. But his time as head coach for the Brumbies they played a very...

I wonder who is in the running for the NZ job. I suspect Hansen will move on after the RWC also but for obviously different reasons then Cheika.

    Wallabies 2020

Same with Jake White. Took Brumbies from 13th to 7th in his first year just missing the finals - with both flyhalves out injured in To'omua and Lilo for a period and really no star players at the time. Then in the second year improved further 3rd and taking the Brumbies to the final (and...

Jeremy Pauls preference for coach is an interesting one that no-one has mentioned: Scott Robertson Crusaders coach I guess it just feels a little too Deans-esque... but he could be onto something.
