^^^^^Bills idea of investing in grassroots... Tax 'em $50 a head for the glory of playing under the umbrella of the ARU.

    Shute Shield 2017

Terrific, but in the real world, Newport has more kids registered than both Easts & Wicks combined, or Norths or Uni etc etc. Going to a lot of unmatched fixtures in this brave new world....

Wait till you have 3 or 4 kids, and one plays at Penrith 9.00, another in Hornsby at 9.30 & the third at Maroubra at 10,if there was a fourth undoubtedly it would also be 9.30at Newport:) That's why Jnr clubs evolved as they have,in Sydney..... If you can stay reasonably local its 10 X easier.

    Shute Shield 2017

Most clubs have 40 odd blokes play in 2's every season. Most clubs have at least a handful of players that play in both 1's & 3's at different stages of a season.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

It's not SS or NRC. If it was, then they would be having the gf a month after the NRC started. Look at it like a union going on strike. It's a negotiating tactic.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

This was a hot topic at the start of this year, and again after they released the latest annual report. The ARU has no intention of changing anything. In January, Pulver made the pissing it up against the wall remark. And, later after the release of the latest annual report,Pulver dismissed...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

Of course there are more rugby fans outside of the SS tent than in it. No one would expect anyone but locals to support a SS team. That doesn't mean that the SS tent is small, irrelevant and its interests should be ignored by the ARU. I don't agree with this tactic. But it's not a binary...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

^^^^^you think Begg and Papworth have gone rogue? I don't. So petitions won't change anything. As for the general public losing patience with SS clubs. I see an awful lot of people at NRC games that I can identify from SS. I think the most outraged are those that watch it on tv. Many of the...

usually? Your sample size is hardly better. Obviously Uni going solo, was hardly best practice. But that's been fixed. The Rays previous performance was held back with a quota mentality, the Rams were more competitive than results indicated. Let's see how it pans out in the next few years.

    NRC onwards and upwards

In that 2 decades every club in every sport has increased its dependence on its ruling body for subsidies, dramatically, in both real dollar terms and percentage of income. This code has lost significant ground to its competitors in this time frame. Most,if not all Super franchises have been...

If that's the pre requisite for 12, why isn't it for the other 14 players? He's done ok playing outside a 10 that adds no value to him.

    Cape Town 7's: 10 & 11 December

There didn't seem to be any on the fringe either. Judging by the last carnival they played, plenty of one paced trundlers seem to be what remains on the cusp. He has no idea.

it's clearly not in the SS clubs interest to just roll over.functioning adults can, and are entitled to voice their dissent. I accept the new calendar goes too far,and is probably self sabotage.

Adams made one Clanger, but plenty of good stuff, and pretty much sat out most of the day after it. He is a good signing. Friend needs to find someone who understands 7's,and send them down to Kiama to sign 3 or 4 more ball players. He put a line through Holmes cos he's not solid enough in...

How do you move past comments that show they don't value your contribution. When their every action since, effects you adversely?

That's not right At the inception of NRC every club but Woods invested in a franchise in some capacity. It might be different now, but they got the ball rolling.

We are simply not competitive when Stannard is not on the field. Is that the second or third time Caslick turned it over on the last play to snuff out our chances? .....living off his sisters reputation
