    QLD Premier Rugby 2014

From what I hear things will stay the same at the Filth. Was some chat about McCormick moving up to Premier but that seemed to die down.

It makes sense but he wants someone else to put up the money. It's an area with huge potential to grow but I think a new comp will need to make some concessions for the Shute Clubs with some political clout.

Australia Vs. England, Twickenham, 2nd November 2013

I'm actually not that confident going into this. The Wallabies have had a real issue with consistency over the last 10 years. We've had one good win over a team that was probably on its last legs having played in a tournament against the best teams in the world. We then were out of the game...

    Women's Rugby Union

Right you are. In that case I can see no reason why the Sevens players wouldn't be released for the Women's RWC.

I guess the issue with Seven's revolves around the Commonwealth Games that would be seen as a priority 2 years out from the Olympics. The Comm Games finish the week before the WRWC.

I think that a few struggling clubs would have a some old boys or benefactors who would be willing to help them out. Randwick are struggling financially at the moment but they could put together a pretty persuasive group to come up with funds for a national comp team one would think.

Could be a close run comp next year with lots of clubs sorting out their act. At this stage I think the Breakers will struggle to win a game as they don't seem to have the right structure in place.

The issue with having the top club teams in a post season comp is that not all the best players will be part of it. I think you'll find all the talent will be attracted to clubs that are a chance of making the finals and the other clubs will just be making up the numbers.

I think quite a few teams would be able to find the money to pay $250K for entry into this comp. there must be something to it as the Premier Rugby comp will finish in July next year. User pays is the way ahead for the ARU. It's what they have done with the junior gold program and it will...

Byron Bay 7's on this weekend. Apparently they turned teams away as they had limited spots.

Canterbury are having a warehouse sale in Brisbane this weekend (Friday-Sunday). Might duck up there at lunch to have a look.

Here's a clip of his work in France. Looks like he's handy at scrum time.

No idea to be honest. There is a small squad who have started training for next year but with the Sevens program running too it's hard to work out what's going on from the outside. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk - now Free

Is Genia's older brother still involved at Norths? I can't see him going to Wests as he'd knock Nigel out of Premier IF he ever played there. Him signing for a club would be a bit of a PR thing.

    Academies - 2014

The Academies need to be there for the Super squads. The ARU can work out something else for the U20's. There will be a lot of cross over but you need to give older guys the opportunity to be part of the process and not just make it a young man's game.

    Academies - 2014

I like that people want players to gain a University education but then get upset when they all play for the University rugby club as they are the ones making this happen. I understand the desire for players to gain an education but University isn't for everyone. Trade qualifications or...
