    Australia v England Test 1 Sat. July 2 @1955

Law 9.12, a player must not physically abuse anyone. In this incident Hill dished out the abuse, rather than Swain. With ex-players on the Judiciary it is feasible that Swain will get off. More likely though a one or two week suspension to confirm that head butting in any form is unacceptable...

    Samoa vs Australia A

I think Hamish is somewhat overestimated by some Reds fans but wasn't appreciably worse than the rest of the team yesterday. To answer your question, Simone and Kuenzle. Simone is off overseas though and maybe Kuenzle has an injury?

Australia A - Back on the Cards

Geez Dru, a lot of contrary views there. But that's fine, I always get a lot from your posts. Saying that, I did get pissed off with the commentary. We are made to feel guilty when we mispronounce an Islander's name, so why can't they make the effort to pronounce Fraser's name correctly...

Calling it as it is Froggy. BTW Feleti needs to alter his tackling technique. He will get done for his illegal grasscutters if he continues.

Amateur officiating again. Iona kicks out on the full and lineout set where ball goes out

    Great lineout throw by Kaitu'u.

Australia A - Back on the Cards

Question above why Campbell is in 11 when Muirhead is in the squad. I think Muirhead actually withdrew, maybe injured? Not all lineout problems are down to Pollard. Couple of throws on the mark lost by the catcher. But poor lineout effort all round.

True, but invariably when he did pick it up he double pumped to get the pass away. Don't remember him having those problems playing for the Reds.

Absolutely agree Nomad about the scrums and the referee. Worst performance by an official in a long time, and there have been some simply terrible performances at all levels lately. Otherwise, No 13 (Ripley?) I thought was the only back worthy of a spot. As you say, Thomas was wayward and...

The Brumbies. Developing rugby players for the World. Something like 4 or 5 in the Samoa side too.

    Wallabies 2023

Can only conclude WM that you really didn't watch a lot of Frost in this year's SRP (Super Rugby Pacific). He was at times sensational with his carries and ability to make ground in contact. Was an area he needed to improve on but he did just that in 2022. As a bench player, he was a big part of the success the...

    Wallabies 2023

RN I have to admit that I'm not on the Rodda bandwagon. He is an excellent lineout operator, but imo no better than Philip, Swain, Holloway or Frost, who is the best of the lot. He is slow around the ground, especially compared with any of the above, and again Frost is the fastest of the lot...

    Wallabies 2023

Monster in defence? Pulled off a similar high tackle on the England No 9 before his red card effort. I didn't see much more from him while on the ground. Minced the English scrum. That was the Georgian THP against Robb. Absolutely owned him. Hope Robb makes the test sides against Tupou.

    Wallabies 2023

What stood out for me RN was that the England LHP, Robb?, was taken apart by the Baa Baa's THP at scrum time. If he comes in against a fit and firing Tupou, I reckon the scrum is going to a very good place for the Wallabies in this test series.

Super Rugby final Crusaders @ Blues

On one of those turnovers, they showed a slomo replay. Whitelock's first movement was hands on the ground over the tackled player. He then partially stood up and had a second go at the ball after the ruck had formed. Looked like two penalties against him to me.

Super Rugby final Crusaders @ Blues

Surely Barrett's drive for the line should have been a penalty to the Blues? Last couple of metres were on his knees while being held in the tackle.

NZ rugby in a wider sense and referees in particular have no inclination to take head knocks seriously it would appear. Any Aus referee would have carded Laulala and sent both Goodhue and Tuivasa-Sheck for HIA tests. I think the Aussie teams would have taken their players off for a concussion...

Shot down in flames SX. Don't remember 2001, perhaps?

    Rebels 2023

Certainly would disagree. As I said above, the Qld comp benefited more from the Brumbies players than the other way round. The Brumbies and their players have mutually benefited from having all players play locally when not needed for Super duties. EDIT : and Imo the Rebels should do the same.
