Rebels v Reds Friday 15 April

Wamb, in case you haven't noticed, some Reds fans here turn almost any and every thread into a discussion of the next big thing to come out of the Hospital Cup. Names that nobody else has ever heard of suddenly appear in threads about the Force, Tahs, rebels and Brumbies, but especially in the...

Australian Super Rugby Team of the Week 2022

Petaia HM - Anstee; Pasitoa and Edmed both very good and shared the honours behind To'omua; FLW (Fergus Lee-Warner) again a very strong game.

Rebels v Reds Friday 15 April

I don't agree with the assessment of Petaia, but I do agree with the sentiment being expressed here.

Western Force v Waratahs: Saturday 16th April

And getting better week by week. Won't surprise me if they go better against the NZ sides than either of the Reds or Brumbies (this year).

    Rebels 2023

Spelling his name and comments about his skills both were wrong PP. Lonergan is one of the better lineout throwers in the country. His game against the Force recently was probably the best illustration of lineout throwing I've seen in a long time. His scrummaging might be another matter atm...

Since when have the Waratahs worn red?

Western Force v Waratahs: Saturday 16th April

Just a little bit of hyperbole there BH. "hard-hitting Swinton", "abrasive Swinton", though I do agree with the latter. Is he really a favourite of Dave Rennie? I thought Rob Leota had effectively displaced him as the test No 6 with Wilson left with a few things to work on, which on the evidence...

    Wallabies 2023

As one who identified Corey as a player to watch while he was still just playing JID comp, I would now say he needs a couple of years at 7s and clubland before taking on Super Rugby. I fear his defence would presently let him down at this level.

FORCE v Rebels - Friday 8 April, HBF Park

Not Kellaway's best game by a long shot. Interestingly, Lacey was on the other wing with Kellaway in the U20s. Lacey last night outplayed AK (Andrew Kellaway) most of the game and beat him all ends up in scoring his try. Kuenzle had a wow of a game. Philip again strong and impactful. Matt To'omua's best game...

    Brumbies 2023

Imagine what Kerevi at 12 would do for Noah, or any young No 10 for that matter. Confidence of being able to pass on to the strongest running centre in world rugby. I think Noah would benefit a lot more from having a straight, hard running No 12 than another playmaker at 12.

    Brumbies 2023

Don't know why Edmed (and Donaldson and Harrison) attract so much discvussion about moving them to other spots. Aussie rugby is short on No 10s and here are three who should be encouraged to play there and see how far they can go. Based on the past couple of weeks, I reckon Edmed might be the...

Round 7 - Drua v Waratahs - CBUS Stadium Gold Coast

Think you mean Ruan, Hawko, not JP.

    Brumbies 2022

Right decision imo and happy to see it not recorded as a red card on his record.

Australian Super Rugby Team of the Week 2022

Matt To'omua's biggest fan over the years but also one of the first to call him out for lack of form last year and this. Very satisfying to see him have a better game on the weekend but for a rookie Edmed was outstanding playing against the likely Wallaby No 10.

    Round 6 - Reds v Waratahs - Suncorp

Ii Baulking? Both ok apparently, but with a "u" is supposedly favoured in Aus use.

That being so, Reg, I'll have to replace him. Looks like it'll have to be Edmed despite his intercept pass that ended the Tahs chances.

Australian Super Rugby Team of the Week 2022

Surprised so many selecting Kane Koteka. Excellent player and had a strong game against the Brumbies but even in that game alone i reckon Brown finished as the best No 7. Didn't pick him in the TOTW as I’m not sure he's Wallaby eligible. Same for Nu'u at the Rebels this week.
