Australia v England: Match II @ Suncorp 7.55pm AEST, 09/07

True enough DC, but the ball rarely if ever reaches the 13 and wings in standard backline play. That is down to Kerevi and needs to be fixed. Wingers only seem to get their hands on the ball from opposition kicks in play. 13 doesn't seem to get it at all.

I was quite impressed. Have to say I didn't see the missed tackles mentioned by Reg but they probably occurred before I started to take notice. He was busy and I think close to 100% on lineout throws.

Seems a few of us here saw enough straight away to at least question the legality of the move. A professional, experienced referee has no excuse for missing such detail except maybe incompetence.

Come on. He got turned over or conceded a penalty on practically every occasion he ran the ball. And he apparently believed he was the only player capable of breaking the line because he didn't use any support players in better position than he was.

KOB, is Hanigan playing? I can recall only Smith and Sinclair with Williams as replacement in the most recent game. Foketi had a strong game and could be a good standby for the main team, but I reckon Hodge will beat Campbell for any call up to the Wallabies. With Hodge in 23, I would send JOC (James O'Connor)...

As I understand it, under a recent law amendment only one player is allowed to pre-bind before contact with the defence. In this case I reckon there were three players already bound to the ball carrier before any contact was made.

Wallabies lost the early physical encounters and went 19- 0 down. Great effort to get as close as they did. But the pack needs to be beefed up somehow. Bell and Porecki can't match their opposites in the physical game. Next week, start with Slipper and FF (Folau Fainga'a) at 1 and 2. If fit, Holloway to partner...

Yeah, Wright threw two and FF (Folau Fainga'a) the other.

    What about the pre-binding?

Quite impressive. Great left boot but so has Len Ikitau.

A master class in box kicking by Lonergan today.

Is Smith the slowest player out there? Slow to catch on that he'll be penalised for dumb shit.

Pretty much on the money allowing for late injuries being reported to Kellaway and Ikitau. How close to the team is your source?

307 test caps on the bench. I like how we now have a bench of finishers with huge test match experience. Easy to see how it impacts on the final quarter of the game. No doubt the influence of Rennie as coach, but also aligned perfectly with how Dan MacKellar has run the Brumbies this year.

Will Hunter's penchant for running out of the line for the big hit suit the team's defensive patterns at 13? His defence otherwise has sometimes had questions about it also. Not sure that the England centres won't regard it as a better opportunity for their attack than when running against Lenny...

And that describes why I think Perese would only be used as replacement for Koroebete, Similar players with similar skills thoght Marika has it over Perese in spade for experience. Think it's more likely that Petia will move to 15, Wright at 14 and Hodge on the bench.

Starting halfback I thought was excellent. Very nuggety for a No 9 but very sharp and strong defender. Bowen looks like he has all the skills required to go quite a bit further.

    Samoa vs Australia A

As people so often are apt to say, Kuenzle has a higher ceiling imo.
